I think it’s hilarious that the most likely huge money maker and source of cash flow will be the batteries. The car seems more like a something between a corporate hobby and a PR ploy. I mean, good, but he’s missing the forest from the trees if those graphene supercapacitor batteries work.

He knows their production

Both of our cars have HD radio capability. Every car we looked at before buying our current cars had it. It seems to be a standard capability in car radios, and has been for years.

Deadlines or not, HD radio capability is widespread enough for these devices to at least justify having an option to use it.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

Didn’t cost an existing job for other models, but didn’t ADD NEW ONES either. We have new people being born every day, and we need to add jobs to accommodate them, or we have a consistent attrition of jobs over time, that leaves people at the bottom of the economic ladder with fewer and fewer employment opportunities.

I don’t think the tax credits are really a long term business model for Tesla. I think they’re necessary until their gigafactory is finished and the Model 3 is on the market.

The auto industry is tough. You lose a shit ton of money every day that you’re building a factory and production capacity, and not producing

Toyota is jumping on the Li-Ion bandwagon, just when Li-Ion is on the verge of being replaced by newer technologies. But then, this is sort of par for the course for Toyota lately. They just always seem to be years behind almost everyone else. Now they’re catching up to 2010's Chevy Volt.

Really looking forward to cross shopping a Focus Energi RS AWD BEV in about six years :)

We’ve been looking at solar roofing tiles for future home renovations. One thing not mentioned, is that solar roofing tiles insulate your roof from solar heating. Reducing cooling costs. They also reduce heat loss from the house through the roof, slightly reducing heating costs.

But they are currently expensive.

When will FM transmitters use HD radio so we don’t get the signal overlap you get in big cities? In Los Angeles, those things are useless.

If Mazda makes the rotary a hybrid (futuristic if it uses graphene supercapacitors), it’ll solve a big part of the rotary engine’s problem: exceptionally poor city fuel economy.

Every gearhead needs to drive a 911, a Miata, a Mustang, a Camaro, and an RX-7 or RX-8 in prime condition. Turbocharged if possible. There’s

FFS, people keep breaking my technological futuristic timelines. First graphene supercapacitors start making it to market now instead of 5 years from now, and now this.

While this makes me sad just on principle, it reminds me of something that makes me more sad. No one will be offering BEV vehicles with a six speed manual. As pointless as that would be, I would still want it.

Can enterprising modders create their own?

Dudes, I’m dying here.

People have thought about this. Even put work into it. This map should help settle the argument.

This is both one of the most Subaru stories I’ve ever heard, and also one of the most Portland stories I’ve heard. The only thing that would make it more Portland, is if she left a box of Voodoo Donuts on the passenger seat with her note and gas money.

While the ATS was my first initial choice, I have to ask...

It is truly weird how more distant WWII, the style of cars, the style of people, the style of talking, the music, the movies...seemed to change so much more by the end of the 70s, than it seems things have changed superficially since the 1980s. They didn’t have any form of TV in WWII. It was barely even invented.

It’s funny how people who weren’t around then, look back at the 80s. 1980 is as far back in the past for a 20 year old now, as 1942 and WWII were for me when I was 20.

1. Electronic ignitions have been around since the end of WWII. They were available as aftermarket products from around 1963. They were available from major car makers from about 1972.

2. I remember seeing an aftermarket electronic ignition that had some sort of handheld device that let you change the timing of at

When the bosses of those people are jailed for misrepresenting products, misrepresenting financing, and recommending repairs that aren’t needed.

Right now, conforming to the less profitable concept of “complete honesty” is voluntary among dealers. And you don’t know who is volunteering to be a trustworthy dealer and
