Millenials are nostalgic? Already?
Millenials are nostalgic? Already?
The one problem with ramp is that it’s off the left lane on a 3 lane section of highway. So the truck already has to cross into the traffic lanes for cars into that left lane.
Just before that ramp, there’s a turn. That’s the trucker’s last hint that they’re out of control, when they have to cross one lane and merge…
I’m surprised that neither Marvel nor DC have come up with a comic book character who decided to dip himself or herself in truck bed liner, thus rendering them nigh invulnerable.
Although, I suspect something like this is The Tick’s backstory. He immersed himself in a vat of bright blue truck liner. The chemicals…
Autonomous cars will solve traffic (when all cars are autonomous and can link together) not just because of the ability to start and stop cars simultaneously.
The primary cause of traffic congestion is a double whammy. The first cause is egress from the highway. Traffic signals at the end of ramps, traffic signals near…
I kind of think, except for GTIs and Golf Rs, VWs are pretty boring. Especially the diesels. The Prius and diesel VWs are in the same category to me in their boreosity.
But, with regen braking you can use the accelerator pedal with a little more impugnity and still get great mileage in a Prius.
A diesel VW that doesn’t…
I could think of one other thing that might put out a powerful radio burst. Exploding a nuclear bomb.
Not really. A comet plowing into the star’s magnetic field can also produce a burst, impacts with a gas giant, etc. Numerous natural events can produce bursts of radio waves. Now a continuous source, at a specific…
SETI seems a little pointless when it’s looking for strong radio signals. In another 30 to 40 years, there will be no more, high power terrestrial broadcasts. If we gave up all terrestrial spectrum to low power digital use like smartphones and smart TVs using cellular data technology, it would drive the price down and…
Why does no one seem to remember “Start the Revolution Without Me”?
The EPA’s top speed of 60 mph during testing does not reflect real world highway gains of a low final drive ratio. My ‘95 Trans Am had a very low final drive, and got peak fuel economy at 85 mph (EPA 25 highway at 60 mph, actual at 80 mph was 31 mpg).
“Outside of hybrids” is the key statement. The diesels were sold to compete with hybrids. Which beat city and heavy traffic fuel economy figures over diesels. The diesels could only compete with the hybrids, because they cheated on their emissions tests. Once they had to comply with that, they were no longer…
If they had smart phones back then, that definitely would have been a viral video.
Taken at face value:
1. Lucy was better adapted for land than trees.
2. Lucy fell out of a tree.
3. Lucy wasn’t good at trees.
4. Which might be further proof that humans were not arboreal at that time.
5. Lucy was probably in that tree trying to escape from something on the ground, that wasn’t good at climbing trees.
6.…
I’m just convinced you can’t go wrong with any hot hatch. And there seem to be a good variety to choose from.
The time to get the right people on the ballot is during the primaries. Presidential, congressional state and local offices.
I know, it sounds like so much work, and it takes so looooooooonnnnnnng. Who has that kind of time?
This election, I find even the third party candidates more laughable than usual. I wouldn’t…
When Democrats are in power in both houses of Congress and the presidency, there are always infrastructure bills passed. They also always stopped being passed the second Tea Party Republicans took the House.
Texas seems to attract companies with sketchy attitudes about safety, and brags about its lax regulatory environment to businesses looking to escape the scrutiny they get in a state like California.
I wonder if this is related to that phone that Apple refused to unlock?
Basically its nothing more than a desk fan that blows cool dry air. It is designed to blow on a person, not cool a room, no matter what they say.
Very true. Also true on the “too cool” part. When I was in Texas, it was like you’re dressed minimally because it’s really hot outside. Then you go into work and they have it refrigerator cold and you need a sweater and long pants. Some places I was in, mittens and a wool hat.
I’ve never been able to acclimate to heat.…
I guess we’ll wait for these little towns to continue collapsing and killing their people, and only replace that housing after the bodies are removed. It’s just going to be weird seeing medieval tragedies continue to happen because people still live in a medieval world there...but with scooters.
I wonder if those towns…
