The values are soaring because there are only about 5 of them that aren’t rusted to hell. They rusted even in Southern California, and the sheetmetal was so thin it dented if you just touched one.

The Avenir would be a nice symbol to show the world GM is serious about Buick. But I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it comes out looking like the concept if/when it’s produced. I’ll believe it when I see it in showrooms.
I don’t know how Buick can stand apart. It can’t make its cars too inexpensive or they compete with Chevrolet, and it can’t make them too good or they compete with Cadillac.
My sister in law has a new Kia Optima that is fully optioned with a leather interior. Buicks aren’t any nicer.
The B-1 could carry smaller remote guided aircraft or semi autonomous drones for close up ground support roles.
You live in a country, you learn what units are being used. I can’t imagine how you can attend any school in the US and not know that a ton is 2000 lbs. Everyone knows this. The same sort of person who doesn’t know there are 2000 lbs in a ton, would also not know there are 1000 kilograms in a tonne.
In California they’re limited to 55. And truckers here are complete dicks about it, often passing uphill on a road with two lanes in each direction, at two miles per hour faster than the trucks they’re passing, backing up car traffic for miles. On a road that has a speed limit of 70 mph for cars.
When I was a kid in the 60s and 70s, the air in Los Angeles looked like Beijing. It can still get bad farther inland, but generally the air in LA is pretty clear most of the time now, especially considering how many more cars we have on the road. We have different gas, we have stricter pollution requirements, we have…
80 is normal for any truck in the US when you get outside of the Pacific Coast states. Lotta epic accidents as a result.
It’s like watching people trying to hold back a tsunami. It’s a process that goes back over a century, where people moved from decaying neighborhoods to nicer ones within the city, when they could afford it. Once they ran out of affordable housing in the nice neighborhoods, an old neighborhood would get gentrified,…
It’s an interesting challenge. But with their sensors that can detect things before a message can pass from your eyes to your consciousness, they can probably pass on two lanes better than you if they’re programmed for it. The main problem is the speed limits on those two lanes are set slow, and the cars might not be…
It should be noted that this film is best viewed with a fine indica or a deep OG.
I’m not sure why they would build a purpose built vehicle. Ford already has electric cars, most vehicle lines should have adaptive cruise control, side collision avoidance, automatic braking and the other modern “safety” features as an option on all of their cars (I’m thinking something similar to the Subaru EyeSight…
They make sense if you have solar panels and want to go off the grid. This would be especially popular with indoor pot growers.
As soon as I saw that it had no engine, I thought “This calls for a small block Chevy”.
Which, because they’d have a surplus of batteries, would drive the price down to something affordable for more homes.
There’s an Electric Ave. in Venice, California, and you would have a lot of friends there. Bonus: you’ll definitely be taking it higher.
But if you had done everything right, you wouldn’t have had a good story. Some level of incompetence is at the root of all good stories.
The oft used phrase my wife and I started using when we did 6,000 mile cross country trips on inappropriately equipped Harleys:
Next up how about an article on Madman Muntz’s “Stereo Pak” bringing personal music selection to cars? Which in my opinion, is the start of people creating personalized soundtracks to their lives.
