Wouldn’t a gas giant or brown dwarf that came too close to the star be ripped apart and it’s remains would become a gas cloud with varying density forming a ring around the star? Something of this nature seems a lot more likely than an alien megastructure.

It’s obvious the Tie Fighter is the result of the military acquisition system from a connected contractor, and the priority was fitting as many of them in a carrier as possible.

Why is a perfectly straight road with great visibility double lined? That gives power-mad slowpokes the entitlement of making everyone’s life hell. Especially given the huge distances of Texas.

Buses: your description on the miserable experience of riding a bus in traffic, is why I won’t take a bus. That my city wants to force people out of cars and onto buses makes me sick. I’ll take light rail where available, but it is available in very few places, with destinations to very few places I need to go, and

We collected 110 gallons and could have saved more, from one out of five surfaces on our garage building that covers about 400 square feet. From two storms that amounted to 0.75 inches of rain in two storms.

So, Bernie doesn’t check all your boxes on your Left Orthodoxy Bible. Burn him at the stake! Stay away from the polls and hand even more offices to the Republicans. Vote for Ralph Nader if he runs again! Plunge the country into an 8 year plus nightmare because “not a Republican” is not enough.

Fixed.

Since like the Focus ST, this will be considered by Ford to be a high level Focus “trim”, they probably expect to sell less than 5,000 annually in the US for it to be profitable.

If you’re going off the grid for an extended period of time, you need something electric. With an electric car, you have fewer moving parts, and you can set up a solar charger. I don’t know whether there’s anything electric that would be suitable for off road, but that’s what you want.

You do realize we’re talking about science fiction here. Projecting any technology decades into the future decreases its likelyhood as foreseen dramatically.

About 900cm of snowpack at Donner? Or it could “end the drought”?

1st Gear: I’ll be surprised if there are still gasoline powered cars by 2040. I’ll also be surprised if there are still hydrogen powered cars in 2025.

Trillions of gallons is a drop in the bucket to an El Nino influenced rain season. The Tulare basin filled up in a 10 by 9 mile lake in the 97-98 El Nino. If there was a plan to pump that into the ground should it repeat, that could help the San Joaquin aquifer.
