I just saw Guthrie Govan play with his Aristocats bretheren a few months ago. Amazing stuff.

Amazing. In that second clip, I expected the song to sound all middle easterny (diminished scaley) but it sounded very harmonic. Without watching, I would not have guessed it was played on a guitar like that.
The internet fired the first shot, by making us so wary of online ads (throughs pop ups, autoplays, sounds, epilepsy inducing light effects, etc.) that no one even wants to give the new round of ads a chance.
That large gold chain tells me this was an ancient and powerful rapper.
Sharlto Copley is amazing as Chappie, both the voice acting and motion capture.
It may have been a bad movie about technology, but it was a good movie, which puts it on a different footing from stuff like The Net. Or “Hackers.” <shudder>
But it’s a great movie, so who cares?
Dear god, was CHAPPIE bad. Let’s ask interesting questions about the nature of sentience and the soul, but shit all over it with two hours of Die Antwood “acting”.
True, but a damn fine movie - other than the Dim Sum scene as that one was WAY too forced - and one of James Horner’s best scores.
I miss that clickwheel. :(
I appreciate the debate, but I tire of the mad hominin attacks..
1) Steam has changed the game because Valve is now in the secure position where they never have to think about their own games being refunded. All of their marquee titles are free-to-play cash cows. They are set. They are safe. They are still a private company. They win points by empowering customers and dictating the…
1) What a silly observation. By far, BY FAR, the largest media dynamic with respect to AGW is the generation of false “balance” by giving the denier’s side more voice than it deserves based on their scientific contributions. When the deniers start producing quality science (capable of meeting peer review standards),…
Wait, wait — you claim to be an engineer, and often “the smartest person in the room,” and yet you see the progression from classical physics to quantum physics not as refinement and increasing levels of exactitude, but as “screwing it up?”
Once a lot of money starts getting worried, that’s when you see changes.
I fully understand that. Sorry if my point wasn’t clear to you. Nothing about global warming means there can’t be lower than normal temps in certain locations. I took OP’s comment to imply a denial of global warming because Alaska was cooler this year, which is nonsense.
Yes. We are being investigated by the FBI for that one.
Don’t you have a puppy to kick?
Did you know scientists can get a pretty accurate picture of global temperatures beyond what people were writing down 15 years ago?
That’s why scientists have gotten away from saying global warming to saying climate change. An increase in overall temperatures will cause some regions to see even colder temperatures than normal. Climate Science 101: a class nobody takes.
