Jim Sterling is a good start in terms of talking about women's issues in games and caring about both women's issues and games, and he's just lovely.
Yea, well the series is "Tropes" vs. women, not "Last year's games" vs. women. I think she did a decent job roving it was a trend over the past few years, one I didn't notice before, but she didn't provide any constructive solutions and a few of her examples were way off, so I took it as an interesting tidbit, not…
I've never played Infinite Crisis, but I'm digging that concept art!
Eh, there was one where she talked about female characters being a 'feature' rather than an established norm that was interesting. She talked a bit about gender signifiers and such. I was reminded of it during the whole Assassin's Creed thing recently when they were saying they would need to make female animations for…
I don't feel that "they were asking for it" is a particularly good justification for anything at all. I don't really have an opinion about her. I've seen a few videos, they were well-produced and had some decent points to think about, though a good deal I either thought was wrong or too much of a stretch, and that the…
I don't really have an opinion about her. I find her videos interesting conversation starters, but it's hard to have a conversation between the rape threats and claims of fraud and whatever.
Oh right, I've only seen one or two of them. Check the comment sections of the Kotaku articles about them instead, there's plenty of hate-filled comments and harassment there.
I don't really have an opinion about her. I just detest the people that hate on her because it kills any possible conversation in a flood of disgusting vitriol and rape threats.
I dunno. They do seem pretty miserable, though. :/
If you think that's dedication, check out any of Anita Sarkeesian's videos. People seem to make a full-time job out of harassing that lady.
National age is 13, but I also don't know of any prefectures where the age of consent is under 15. Then again, I dunno what the laws are in imaginary anime settings, so whatever I guess. n.n;
Certainly possible.
A sick country with 1/26th the rate of child molestation than the US.
Technically, age of consent in Japan is 13, so a good number of those high schoolers are legal. Depending on the prefecture. I guess. Still feels gross.
I instinctively want that information on the bottom of the screen instead of the top, but otherwise I love it. n.n
One correction: The color next to each of your guns denotes its equipment slot and ammo type. White is for your primary weapon that uses the white ammo pickups, green is your secondary weapon that uses green ammo pickups, and purple is your heavy weapon that uses purple ammo pickups. It's pretty useful.
Yes indeed. I also like the way Sony is doing things like this with the Pub Fund. The way they do it is when the game comes out, Sony pays them as if they had sold X copies of the game. Because of those guaranteed sales, they can take risks with things and know they'll recoup some of the cost in exchange for X…
You will often come across better gear and guns, yea. It looks like the level cap is about 20, and after that the game becomes almost entirely about gear since it can increase your effective level beyond 20. They're also randomized to some extent, like borderlands, with different parts, elemental effects, rarities,…
