Bingo, baby.
Bingo, baby.
That's only how FAST's LSX intakes work. Stock intakes are pretty different inside.
Weeeeeeee actually built a CFD model of the engine and used that to run a couple thousand iterations of intake runner based on the maximum interior dimensions of the plenum, then ran the 8 best designs on the dyno to confirm the optimum configuration :/
it works a lot like an organ (the musical instrument). When the intake valve slams shut on a cylinder to begin compression, a pressure wave extends off of the back of the valve, back up the intake path. When it reaches the top of the intake path (the plenum on most cars), it actually reflects back down into the intake…
Oh yeah, protip #2: There's a SHITLOAD of power in getting the length on these tuned properly. Part of my master's thesis was built around controlling the resonant frequency of an intake charge throughout the combustion process, and we picked up 3-5 hp PER CYLINDER on an otherwise-stock 5.3 LS, just from taking the…
Most cabs were crown vics, but my cab were not most cabs, so my cab were not crown vics.
I feel like mercedes' stylists are kind of just floundering around these days.
I drive a 993 cab. It's the lowest-horsepower car in my fleet, but that irreplaceable visceral feel makes it just as magnificent as anything else I have at my disposal.
This is neither short-sighted, fear-based, nor protectionist. What the hell is this guy doing in the auto industry?!
Today's life lesson: Boys, beat the crap out of your girlfriends.

Bingo. These guys are basically just trying to grab some attention.
The sad thing is, at the time, the Volt WAS a more advanced concept. The production model is a watered-down version of the original all-electric-with-an-onboard-generator concept/prototypes.
I don't mind drifting a bit—I just don't see how it can be cheaper than autocross.
so much NP that every other P before this now seems like a CP. Tempted to make the drive out to check it out.
I'm 6'3, 250 and fit in a clownshoe just fine. I'd highly recommend looking into one if your only concern is fitting.
But smarter driving will lead to more driving, because smarter driving reduces the cost per mile of vehicle usage. The end result of additional driving could be more traffic and more aggregate fuel consumption.
In her defense, I would have NEVER put the 8 at the second slot when there was a 5 in play. I would put it at around 250k, and thus would have been just as busted. And would then murder everything and cry myself to sleep for the rest of my life.
