Ok, so I’ll point out the obvious. These statues are not war monuments. They are statues of warriors. BIG difference. Lincoln led the Northern forces (yeah, not on the field... please keep up with the tour) and no one in their right mind considers the Lincoln Memorial a war monument. Rightly so.
