This. And a minority that, with wage, will become smaller over time. I like a good infotainment system. Its about the only thing I wish my older Fords had that new cars do.

Can't help but think some of these early 2000s Germans cars don't really deserve the mention. They weren't exactly known for reliability, or being easy/cheap to repair.

I can't be the only one going through this list and thinking, "none of these are even that offensive". At least, compared to the garbage that airs on American television. Perhaps standards for political correctness are just that much stricter in Britain? I can't really think of any other reason for the outrage over

I would be okay with seeing fewer New Beatles.

Well I'm sold on a Comet. I don't think I could do with any fewer ornaments and medallions.

Impressive. Would've been more impressive with more speed, though.

Don't Androids work with most infotainment systems with a USB port anyway?

I wonder how this will interface with Ford/Microsoft Sync... Also, it sounds like it was Toyota that backed away from Apple, as opposed to Apple not considering Toyota a major brand.

I grew up loving trains. I don't even have memories of a time before I wasn't crazy about trains. I still am. But I got into cars as well, just not until later.

27 years is a pretty decent run, isn't it?

I suppose I would agree that this is a "best possible" scenario for the FAA and Southwest. That inspections were missed at all is troubling, and should not happen, but the reaction to ground the fleet voluntarily is certainly commendable. And Southwest seems to have had a better safety record than other low cost

USAir 427 and United 585, both 737s, were both downed due to a defective rudder component resulting in an uncommanded hard over. While its basically impossible for a repeat of those flights on new 737s, it does sort of prove that rudder problems can certainly bring down a 737.

Would you still have this outlook if one of the planes had a rudder control problem during flight, with a potential loss of life? Or if one of the planes (unlikely as it is) were to go down, after the problem was acknowledged?

For me, I would like to know more how serious the potential consequences of this

CT6? Is this basically the new CTS with a "6" instead of a "S"? And why 6? It's a four door with four wheels, and eight cylinders. I feel like CT8 would make more sense.

There is just no excuse for fines being that low for a company earning that much. Fines should be tied to what a company is earning, or what its worth. So you won't get situations where companies making crazy amounts of cash per day are paying meaningless fines.

I shouldn't be, but I was taken aback by how little power cars were making relative to their engine sizes prior to the 1980s. I suppose that probably had to do with cheap fuel, with little reason to try and get more power out of their engines. My lowly Tempo even got 100HP out of its 2.3L 4, and it drove all four

I second your sentiment. Sales for compact and mid-size trucks are just nonexistent as it is. Would having more of them make a difference? The Brits don't buy our F-150s, we don't buy Ridgelines, its just sort of the way of things.

My Tempo has quite large tail lights, with pretty big amber turn signals. I love them. Bright, yes, but also clean and prominent. That said, I don't think they should be required in the front or rear. Instead maybe just have a rule that mandates how visible/bright they are?

I can honestly say I've never heard of cars catching fire due to spinning tire friction, and I'm from Alaska. Then again, most of us know that when you're stuck on ice, spinning your tires is about the most pointless thing you can do.

I disagree. I'm a car guy, but I'm also someone who sees the value of mass, public transit. Over the past 10-15 years, public transportation and mass rail transit has really boomed. The reasons for this trend are diverse, but partly driven by (primarily urban) millennials moving away from personal transportation (the
