Akerson is just one of several not very good executives to run General Motors. He is one of the last people whose advice should be taken seriously.

"Paid what they are worth." Setting aside the feasibility of determining the true worth of every individual employee in a massive corporation like Honda or Toyota, what do you mean by worth? The efficiency of their labor? If so, if Japan is anything like America, than their employees should be making multiples of what

I'd be all for the catalytic converter removal fee, so long as it was $10 billion dollars.

I'm not even sure what the law is in Alaska, all I know is just about every car (including my Tempo) has a front plate. So when I replaced the front bumper on my F-150 with a plate-less example, I thought I'd be drawing attention to myself. Not so. Haven't had the front plate for 3 years, and no trouble whatsoever.

The bed filled with junk really ties the whole scene together. Do Rangers even exist without junk filled beds? Who can say.

But I need those parts to keep my own econobox going. I never thought I'd see this day, but its actually getting harder to find these sorts of cars at the Pick-a-Parts.

A lot of once great economy cars put down their lives this way. So senseless.

I'll hand it to Cadillac, their designs are so much less boring than the Germans.

With the Hummer gone, the Escalade is really the only metal metaphor for American excess left. It just sort of seems appropriate that it would be Cadillac's biggest hit, since Cadillac is really America's premier luxury car brand.

I would really like this to be available as a Sedan, but ah well. If I'm not mistaken, the last time Ford offered an All Wheel Drive compact with a 2.3L I4 in the United States was in 1991. A certain Ford Tempo and Mercury Topaz. Which, admittedly, had less than a third of the power, and half the gears, and a more

This list is only correct because there are no six cylinder Tempos for sale on eBay at this moment. Surely, if there happened to be a six cylinder GLS Coupe with the Mazda MTX-IV on eBay, it would have made the cut.

Or home of General Motors. A much more influential entity than any American union. If General Motors had come out IN FAVOR of allowing Tesla to practice its own business model, do you really think the UAW would have been able to hold it off?

Please.

I am convinced that odometer readings matter much, much less than what sort of life the car has led, and to a lesser extent its age. My Tempo has about 140,000 miles on it, and my F-150 has about 180,000 on it. There is no doubt in my mind, most Ford trucks will drive towards infinity if they haven't been abused or

Straight Eight Ford Tempo anyone?

Forgot this. Any day now...

I've spent over $16,000 on my F-150 and over $11,000 on my Tempo in the past 3 and 7 years respectively. Not including fuel, insurance, or purchase prices. Just maintenance and repairs.

Indeed. I run my own commercial fishing operation, and I've never used a truck that isn't a Ford for work duty. I've owned a Chevy 2500, and briefly considered putting it to work, but its awful transmission quickly put that thought to bed. I don't know any fisherman who runs anything from Toyota or Nissan.

I think I will always prefer the smooth purr of my Tempo's HSO 2.3 to these garish so-called "sports" cars.

Exactly. Although it is very safe to say the number is higher than what GM claims it to be.

My guess would be that Tundra owners are less likely to be buying their truck for business purposes, and more likely for leisure/light duty work. Which is, not coincidentally, also the market that is more likely to lean towards higher end luxury packages.

Do I have any facts to back that up? No. Just an baseless
