Honda sounds like my high school counselor when dealing with fights. He urges in vain to make each party respect each other, but to no avail.

@ShantJ: VIN 1FAPP39SXKK134401, which is a 1989 Ford Tempo AWD Sedan in Graphite Gray Metallic with Ford Premium Sound, 14" Polycasts, and the HSO version of the standard 2.3L I4 connected to the only available transmission: a 3spd. ATX w/ FLC.

I like to replace the rearview mirror. I like to put a big old truck mirror on my car.

Ah come on... Topaz, while remembered with equal disdain, at least sounds cooler then Tracer.

There was actually such a thing as a Ford Tempo squad car. There's a few shots of 'em around the webz.

A Cabaret Red Mercury Topaz, of 1992-1994 vintage. Preferably in LS attire, with the Scarlett Red interior. I'd only buy it for that special someone if, and only if, it were in pristine condition with low miles.

Goats are so much fun to piss off. Its not too hard either. You just gotta imitate them, and it sets them into a rage.

I've seen some ugly ass trucks in my time... And, oh, wait. They're the ones that actually do, you know, truck things.

@Alex Conley: Damn, and I'm yearning and dreaming for a second Tempo (or Topaz!)

What annoys me about the whole Toyota situation is that, my good old '89 Tempo has never had any of these problems. Hell, even its cruise control works flawlessly as it did twenty one years ago.

@Novaload: Totally agree. And if you can find one, a Mercury Marauder is a pretty good looker.

Further proof that Japan is dead.

@Uncle Bo: $56k is nothing. You can option a GMC Sierra up to nearly six digit figures.

I would like to see automakers (especially the Super Duper Big #1 Detroit Automaker that didn't take a gov't handout) back in the media.

Like most, I do have a strange fascination with night time cruising. I like it so much, I've got a special play-list on my iPod entitled: 'Night Drive Music'. From Claude Debussy to U.N.K.L.E. its full of strange, and soothing yet energized music. The kind of songs that go hand in hand with driving a great machine on

There's an old, old, old, very old quad-circular-headlamp-era Volvo station wagon (vanilla faded white flavored) at my high school.

This topic, more then anything, is the reason why I'd rather drive my Ford Tempo then operate a new Five Hundred or Camry.

So is this three or four major Toyota recalls/problems in the past month? First the floor mate recall, then the accelerator peddle recall, now the brake lag on the Prius.

I haven't had a vehicle that hasn't been troublesome. I've only had four, but they've all had issues. Right now, the Tempo is my only smooth running machine and it took many hours of labor and many thousands of dollars to get it here.
