Yep. Think of us going from Azeroth-1 to Draenor-2 this expansion. Draenor-1 (Outland) still exists in the present, and theoretically, so does Azeroth-2, but we have no contact with it.

(This is all a lot easier to keep clear in your head if you think of this as a 1970s-era DC Comic book.)

"She still seems to blame the entire Horde for destroying her city though, so I doubt those negotiations will go well."

Blizzard has also said that they have no plans to show us the alternate version of Azeroth. WoD is mostly just an excuse for everyone to play with toys that have been unavailable since the end of War2.

It's not "really" time travel in this case: We went back to the past of a Draenor that's almost, but not exactly like ours. (For instance, Garrosh was never born on this version of Draenor.) Blizzard has so far avoided having two versions of the same character on Draenor. We meet Prophet Velen, for instance, but he's

We have not seen any alternate versions of Azeroth characters (probably — there are people who theorize that this younger sexier Khadgar is not who he appears to be). If Jaina and Varian show up, they'll be "ours."

1. They're almost entirely dead. The city got blown up real good.

1) Thrall wanted to be Elemental Jesus, as I recall. He's also gotten married and, more recently, had a kid. He's basically retired. I think everyone, including Blizzard, just got sick of him.

So, the story so far:

Yes. You can't change talent choices in combat, but it's pretty much accepted that there will be changes made between raid bosses. The trees have also been replaced with simpler tables, with fewer, more dramatic talents instead of lots of small iterations like .X percent of a value changing per talent point. The goal

Uh, no one really addressed the story. WoW's probably more story-driven in the past two, arguably three expansions, than it's ever been. As usual, you mostly run out of stuff to do at level 100, although there are 12 short weekly quests that continue the storyline out toward the next patch (which they clearly thought

It'd be great if Polly Adams, Douglas' daughter and the one in charge of all of his works now, were to greenlight this being ported to tablets. Ditto the BBC, which has had the Hitchhikers Infocom game on its site for a few years now, really ought to get around doing the same (assuming Polly doesn't control that one,

Tony began posting as The Infomage, a character "who was loosely based on Q from the Star Trek universe – omnipotent but basically cavalier". He fondly remembers playing pool with planets, as well as the time that a 'dataside being' called Quinrex set about digitizing the entire crew. But perhaps his favourite

How well do competitors stack up? I've got the Automatic dongle plugged in. I'm curious if it's more secure.

Douglas Adams got there first. ;)

If you think the Hobbit is a songfest, stay away from Lord of the Rings. Because nothing says "secret mission to overthrow the embodiment of evil" like non-stop road songs. Apparently Hope and Crosby were members of the Fellowship of the Ring.

I have to imagine recruiters for fields where they're competing for a limited pool of qualified applicants have similar rules, even if they're typically unstated and directed at adults. If you view Rush Week through this lens, I'm not sure this is all that atypical.

Now, if you view sororities as a fun social club for

On a very different scales, my seven year old now sides with Ruby on "Max & Ruby," instead of Max, now that he's got a younger sibling of his own. I'm looking forward to him getting older and realizing that Ruby's a jerk, whether or not her younger sibling can be trying at times.

One of my professors in college talked about how dramatically different Beowulf is at different ages of life. (Note: The prerequisite is that you must enjoy Beowulf, which I do.) For a young man, it's an adventure story, for an adult, it's about triumphing over obstacles one creates for oneself, and for an old man,

Lots of current (as far back as the final raid of Cataclysm) armor isn't flat. Mages, for instance, had spinning 3D gears on their shoulders and the upcoming Tier 17 armor has terrifying spinning and smoking belt buckles.
