No not really. The f-17 was smaller then the f-18. The F-18e/f is much larger then the other 2. They are visually similar but 3 different airplanes.

I saw go back to its later older brother.... the F-20. The f-5 program spawned the f-17 and then f-18. But the F20 was an even better hot rod.

I think your confusing the alpina 8 for the regular 8. The base one was great, the alpina was the hybrid that made little sense. They exist in about 50/50 amounts based on the last z8 meet I attended.

They where about 1 year away from a better engine. In fact they had built at least 1 with the turbo motor by the time everything was shut down, if I remember correctly.
