I had been reading Jalopnik for a little while, but I remember making an account to just to comment when Jason’s VW had been spotted after being stolen. I’ll miss Jason’s sense of humor and snark, and I’ll miss David’s penchant for hopeless rust buckets. I hope nothing but the best for you guys!

I used to think in-car navigation was cool until I owned a vehicle with it. It didn’t take long for it to be outdated, and there was no way I was going to pay what the dealership wanted to update the maps, especially when I own a smartphone.

Never say "this shouldn't take long" before you begin turning wrenches.

I can’t believe Mario Kart hasn’t been mentioned yet. Obviously, it’s heavily stylized and features few real-world inspired cars, but it’s a game series that’s had a pretty large influence on the racing genre as a whole. Not only that, but it can be both a game that’s fairly easy to pick up and play casually, as well

I’m going to argue that most car movies are not very good. The problem is that you have to have a plot that justifies the cool car stuff, and often movies fall into ridiculous tropes trying to earn it. What happens is you usually end up with a movie that’s only 25 percent (or less) devoted to the cars with the rest

Eh, maybe...I guess I can sort of see that. I would argue, though, that the Prelude pulled it off much better with its lower roof line, more raked back windshield, and “3rd box” rear boot area to give it some visual balance.

I agree. The hood looks way too long to me.

Third and fourth generation F-bodies have an awkward lump in the passenger floor pan to tuck the catalytic converter into the body. It makes for a really uncomfortable seating position where your knees feel higher than your hips if you sit any other way than with your legs totally stretched out in front of you, and

Very true.

I would argue the worst car to take on a date has less to do with the kind of vehicle it is, and more to do with the condition it’s in. Dirty, worn-out, peeling paint, poorly-running...none are ideal.

Other than having driving skills far below those I thought I had as a teen, many of my hard-learned financial lessons came from attempting repairs I wasn’t ready for. To be fair, I ended up learning quite a few lessons and am far more competent now in my late 30s than I was in my earlier auto-owning years. If not for

I see you are a person of culture, my friend.

Our Target in Oxford, AL is pretty awesome. Most people working there are very friendly and the store is always clean. It’s the retail antithesis of the local Wal-Mart.

This meme got shared like wildfire after the school board sent us teachers back into the classrooms this year. There have been deaths.

It was a lackluster attempt to capitalize on their purchase of AMC. Jeep was the only thing really worth having, but Chrysler ended up with a lot of (mostly defunct) brands in the deal. They turned the AMC brand into Eagle as the AMC Eagle was the last popular-ish car they produced (they couldn’t stomach letting the

I don’t have an issue with the styling. In fact, I welcome it wholeheartedly. My problem with it is that it seems so much bigger than what a Civic should be in my head. The other thing I hate about it is that Honda just refused to embrace the two box hatch shape, instead opting for something that looks more like a

The Plymouth Prowler had every opportunity to be amazing. It should have been a reasonably affordable parts-bin hot rod, but it was cursed with a ho-hum V6 and was almost unusable with the top up for anyone near 6 ft. tall.

That back end is giving me Hyundai Genesis coupe vibes.

To be fair, it’s certainly not an unreasonable speculation. The Camaro hasn’t been doing too well (at least comparatively speaking) for a while now. It’s a shame; GM has had all the opportunities and feedback necessary to make a better Camaro. Not to mention the competition they had to look at for a successful

I agree that the newer car was far more elegant than the one it replaced, though I still bemoan the loss of the Mazdaspeed variant. Both available generations of the Mazdaspeed 3 were fantastic.
