Did anyone really expect BMW to keep the small block Chevy motor intact? Once that decision was made, it only made sense to go all original.

Call me crazy, but until this thing actually debuts I’m not going to go crazy over it. I’m not going to invest in a mid-engined Corvette. Until they’re unveiled in near-production form wearing the appropriate badging these things are as good as dreams. We might as well be talking about an all-wheel-drive Mustang.

I halfway expected to read this article and see at the beginning something about a full version of this story and your book, which I look forward to reading.

My first car was a ‘91 Camaro with an anemic 305 and an automatic transmission. Say what you will about it, I never missed a shift. It was easy, intuitive, and accurate. I can’t imagine why engineers thought the at-fault shifter was a better solution.
