I do not understand why people feel the need to share that they think tattoos look awful. Like, okay well thanks for your unsolicited and unnecessary opinion on my appearance! Glad we got that established! I can sleep at night now knowing someone has very important opinions on how the bodies of others look!

"I guess nobody explained to Mufasa that when a hyena eats a baby lion, the hyena turns into grass, and then the antelopes eat the grass! It's the circle of life, Mufasa! Mufasa is maybe not the greatest grass scientist."

A 5'9" professional athlete who could probably kill someone with a kick to the right spot. And at seventeen, I was not at all imposing (in fact, I'm still not terribly imposing more than a decade later). It's perfectly legitimate to be scared in that situation.

Solo could come out tomorrow and literally admit to all of it and you would have none of it. I'm sorry you are so angry and bitter. Bad things happen and sometimes the bad person is from a class of people that are usually the victims. Years of injustice does not make innocent everyone in said class.

You help none of

Really doubling down here, I see.

She doesn't, but he does because he owns it. That is the point. If I pull what you believe to be a gun on you, you are likely to stop hitting me. If you continue to hit me, its not any worse because even if you take it from me, you still don't have a functioning weapon.

Wouldn't someone who owns said broken know that?

When I was younger and had 2 to 6 guinea pigs, we would just put their cage in the backseat of the car when going on our weeklong summer family vacation (it was easier when we used my dad's SUV, but my mom's sedan worked just fine, too). They were always totally fine, you just have to make sure they have plenty of

I love how you've also completely ignored the female victim of Solo's aggression. Way to minimize the impact of domestic violence on a woman., I'm sure she appreciates it.

If it's my BB gun and I know it's broken.

You realise that you're verging on parody here, right? Like...just ready-made stuff for reddit and MRAs to quote that makes every other feminist look bad, right?

Pointing — not firing, merely pointing — a gun at someone who is relentlessly physically assaulting you in order to possibly scare them away is actually a pretty proportionate response.

Seriously? She's a professional athlete! I would have done the same thing if Hope Solo showed up at my house and went on a drunken rampage.

a gossip site quoting the police report.

I assumed it was clear that she was the aggressor and he was defending himself, since she's the one who was arrested and is currently having a hearing. It's common knowledge, I thought, that the nephew is the victim in this case, and I included the gun detail because it's indicative of how far things escalated. If I

Hope Solo has a history of being physically violent and aggressive. She married a guy even worse. Knowing a person's history, as you pointed out above, is a useful thing.

Tell me something, since your response seems strongly gender-influenced rather than tied to the reported facts, if instead of pulling a broken BB gun, he had responded by beating her down would you be okay with that? If not what should his response to physical abuse have been?

If he shot her no, its not— but, since he pulled it to get her to back off after she beat him.

Kind of like you are brushing over the fact that this teen was being physically and verbally attacked?

Guinea pigs are my favorite rodent. I went to Peru once, and I saw people there eating them, and it scarred me for life. They're too cute to eat!
