This is so surreal. I've been working with Ross on some nonprofit projects as of late, and he couldn't be a nicer guy. That child meant the world to him, and he is in absolute hell right now. Please send thoughts of sympathy to him and his family.

That happened in my home town. She poisoned her husband (he survived, barely) and killed her children by burning her house down (one survived). Deborah Green. She was a doctor and a drunk.
No problem. I had a vague recollection of that story but had to do some googling using keywords from the case to find the book. Aaand now I have to clear my search history because it looks super creepy.
Nope. It's still second degree murder either way under New York law, so I think the sentencing is the same whether it's intentional or depraved heart murder. To get a longer sentence it would have to be first degree murder, which only applies when you kill a cop or a judge or hire someone to murder someone else or…
Bitter Harvest: A Woman's Fury, a Mother's Sacrifice by Ann Rule? About Debora Green?
Yes, she needs her own circle of hell!
....still waiting for someone to care about what you have to say.....
The amount of enthusiasm is also scary. "Going to be a great night!!!" Well, she's not having cunnlingus performed on her, she's not smoking a bowl, she's not watching NFL football, she's not eating a really good meal.
Of all the fucked up shit people do to one another this might be the thing that appalls me the most. This might even be a step ahead of raping elderly and incapacitated people.
That's unfortunate, it sounds like that woman got screwed. But I still hope situations like these are investigated, regardless of the outcome.
And you see photos of him and he looked like such a sweet little boy. It's unfathomable, really.
I know it's because it's more "headline-y," but this lady was not really a mommyblogger. Her blog had 2 posts and hadn't been updated in years. She had a private facebook account. She had a handful of followers on twitter. She obviously has munchausen by proxy, and this is a terrible, tragic case of what happened…
Yeah, I think even though most people don't fake recurring sickness, they might milk it a little when they're actually sick. So I get why someone would make themselves ill or exaggerate an illness.
I HOPE THIS LADY BURNS IN ALL 9 CIRCLES OF HELL! For fuck's sake.
I just can't imagine, having a young creature, completely dependent on you, loving you, and you take that love and slowly, intentionally torture him to death. With him not knowing, still thinking that you'll do anything for him, because he's your baby.
Who the fuck could do this to any child, much less their own? That kid trusted that woman with his life because she was his entire fucking world.
Munchhausen by proxy is horrible. That said, I can't get the mental gymnastics one would have to go through to make it OK to hurt someone so dependent on you. The betrayal is almost as bad as the physical damage.
On the other hand, there is this case, where the mother is in prison for murder although some experts suspect her son had Pica and essentially poisoned himself.
"Munchausen by proxy, fed by social media sympathy"
If you were a real baker, you would already know the answer to that.
