I agree with everything you said, except for when you think the Silverado turned ugly. I think it was probably the best looking truck (except for a few Sierra models) until the mid-cycle refresh in 2016. Even then, the 2016-2018 model wasn’t ugly, it just wasn’t as good looking as the pre-refresh. But then 2019 came,

Chevy really needs to fire its designers, the vehicles they are making are not “edgy” they are “ugly”. The Camaro, just keeps getting uglier. The trucks have not looked good for over a decade. Chevy has taken this ridiculous giant grill theme to almost all of their cars. It is just plain ugly. Then add in all the

My brother-in-law recently replaced his trailer with a narrower but longer one for fuel economy. It netted him ~2mpg and he was thrilled. This is in a diesel F250, and a new trailer is not a cheap thing.

“The grill looks fine, must be the MPG”. - Lexus.

Now everybody’s noticing how special this Vols team was.  Grant, Schofield, and Bone came to school with no expectation that they could get drafted and played their way into it.

Should we expect to see Jalopnik put a halt to all road tests, then? I mean, we must drive less, right?

My aunt bought a Renault 12 new 1979 in Venezuela. She drove it until at least 2006, last time I visited. Lots of fond memories from my childhood in there. Specially she driving the hell out of that car, cigarette in the steering wheel hand and the other one out the window gesticulating to every car, pedestrian and

People followed Obama because he would sign any ridiculous thing any democrat put in front of him.  Obamacare had the largest pork add-ons in history.  He was a do-nothing junior senator who introduced no new legislation.  Basically, he was nothing more than a groomed party yes-man.  His big promise that got repubs to

So... you’re telling me the Renault Alliance is taking a turn?

As someone who works on a university campus and still has to slam on the brakes when going just 5 mph to avoid running over students who walk out into streets without ever taking their eyes off of the phones, your desire to satirize is a gross over simplification. The campus is also surrounded by a very low income

5th Gear: If we are going to blame distracted driving due to cell phones, we should also acknowledge distracted walking due to cell phones.

my only concern would be timid tuning (a Toyota hallmark) limiting electric torque or wheelslip in hybrid mode.  The land cruiser’s big dumb hammer approach is what makes them so good.

They have to be tall to fit an obnoxiously large emblem on the tailgate.

Genuine question: How do the people who use the Land Cruiser for off-road expeditions feel about this? For me, the Land Cruiser has always been the choice for people who put snorkels and a full safari rack on their vehicle.

That might be the primary delay - getting a motor combo that would be as demonstrably reliable as needed for the planned 25-year service life. I’m sure they could do it, but that vehicle is meant to be your Last Car.

it looks like it would be a bitch to actually use as a truck.

I’m finally starting to see a few of these silverados out in the wild and pictures don’t do them justice.

The Silverado is not selling because that face is truly appalling in person. It’s neither masculine nor graceful. It looked like a failed styling exercise that somehow got the green light. I also think the uncertainty of gas prices in the US deems the introduction of the new Silverado a very bad timing.

Remember leather, entertainment systems, multi-zone climate control and big chrome wheels all save lives. If you don’t put your kinds in the high end macho luxo truck you really want, THEY WILL DIE!

I worry about the safety of hydrogen fuel cells. If there’s one thing you learn in a chemistry lab, it is that you treat compressed, reactive gases with the utmost respect, because they like to react vigorously without much provocation (especially hydrogen!) and WILL go Hindenburg on you if you even slightly mistreat
