This site is spewing more anti-car crap than ever.
Cities bring in way, way more people than they can realistically manage.
Agreed. GM should have called it the “Electra” and sold it out of Cadillac and Buick Dealerships.
GM and Obama both screwed up when they insisted on making a people’s mass market electric. Tesla was much smarter in identifying and targeting the two key “Signaling” markets: Wealthy people who drove a Prius to “Virtue-Signal” their environmentalism & the people who’d lease a stripper CLA/3-Series so they could…
The Bolt competes against what Tesla makes in the same way the Chevy Cruze ‘competes’ with the BMW 3 Series.
Yeah, the Bolt has a lot going against it, not least of which is the general perception of small GM hatchbacks and how much the should cost and who drives them. Add to that the mediocre charge rate and relative lack of available fast chargers (real or perceived, doesn’t matter), etc., and you’ve got a recipe for bad…
If GM starts pumping out a significant number of EVs and doesn’t need to buy pixie dust from Tesla...Tesla is screwed.
Show us on the doll where the joke hurt you.
“If I buy a 2022 Chevy SparkyVolt, will I be able to visit relatives 600 miles away in the same 11 -12 hours it takes me now? Or would re-charging add another few hours to an already long trip?”
Neutral: I seem to remember GM hiring a bunch of executives from outside the car industry to run their brands, back in the mid-late 2000s or whenever. I’m pretty sure the results weren’t that great.
It’s “real” in the sense that people are actually racing each other. However, all of the races are done on streets that have been closed for the purpose of racing and fire and medical personnel are on-hand in case of an accident. They don’t actual race on streets with other vehicles and pedestrians thankfully.
I cannot say this enough: If you street race, you are dumb and bad. Find a legal place to do it or don’t do it at all.
Ride the Lightning is the best Metallica album.....fight me.
such a fantastic album, start to finish!
This kind of thinking is what makes me hate the products of higher education. People will go to college, probably go for a degree that has no real world value, make very little, and then bitch about the guys who went out there and did something that has tangible results and they can take pride in. Like seriously, when…
It depends on the degree. STEM pays pretty good. Liberal Arts, often end up writing peoples’ names on a plastic cup.
To counter that:
That says more about how shit someone’s masters degree is than how evil a union is.
Call me when we get to 15 or 20% of new car sales as electrified (fully or partly). The US is currently under 3% (https://jalopnik.com/heres-what-americas-adoption-of-evs-and-hybrids-really-1823402814). Not enough to significantly move the CAFE needle. And there isn’t enough capacity to hit higher numbers yet. Ask…
