Excellent - so use this as a reason to put rules on the judges regardless of political ideation.

The next question to expect: Isn’t this movie going to be massively overstuffed with all these other superheroes running around?

Can you imagine how hard it was to animate Homer doing the “Curly dance” by hand? From an isometric perspective, no less? Goddamn that show had some chops before the turn of the millennium.

His strategy makes sense considering I find it a bit shocking now if a superhero movie doesn’t include at least two heroes in it. And Gunn’s work tends to skew towards a group of people/heroes working (reluctantly or otherwise) together.

As someone in their late forties reading this and learning about all of this labelling, that was my thought too.

I think it could work - if Superman is going to be an inspiring figure, it’s not a bad idea to give him people to inspire. And you could make something entertaining out of the contrast between how inspiring Superman appears to other heroes, and much of a goofy dork he actually is as Clark.

An issue that correlates to this is that pop-feminism (I’m not going to call it pseudo-feminism because it is exactly how feminism is practiced in the US by the masses) has failed and it was only ever going to fail. Since its popularity grew by the embrace of a few pop stars ten years ago, it has been entrenched in an

See this is good AVClub (old school) discussion. So, The Google says that this episode originally aired in 1993. I was 22 at the time, and The Simpsons was a big deal on my college campus. Millennials are 1981- 1994. So, your older millennial/later Gen X theory checks out nicely.

Probably the older Millennial/late Gen X gang, yeah

My (admittedly casual) view from 10,000 feet: The fact that both the writers and actors are complaining/striking about pretty much about the same things and the studios seem pretty intractable and opaque lends credence to the grievance. The current streaming model may be more broken than suspected?

I admit to being a little surprised it came to this. Surely a deal would have been reached by now. And in contrast to the writers, it’s clear the actors absolutely don’t want to do this, and are in full stall mode, now that TWO of their deadlines have passed (which is a little funny). But to your point, maybe this is
