Welsh is fantastic , although accidently turning on S4C during its Rugby coverage with Welsh commentary is I imagine a bit like having a stroke , more so if you had to study Welsh’s distant linguistic cousin language Gaeilge (Irish) in school , and you sort of vaguely half understand some words.

I mean, if there’s one tiny upside to that dumb Supreme Court ruling, it’s that bigoted businesses are voluntarily putting “I’m a giant asshole, don’t spend your money here” signs up in their windows.

And still these justices and their supporters will claim there is no need for ethical oversight. Because... reasons. And nothing will be done to change it. Or rather the people trying to do something about it are being stonewalled by Republicans on the Judiciary committee and beyond

Exactly. I enjoy the teaching part of my job. But the committee meetings? The constant revising of meaningless assessment standards? I could leave all that behind in a heartbeat and be 100% happier in my profession. The tone of this article is weird, particularly since it then turns around and congratulates Emily

A large chunk of working in ‘Hollywood’ has nothing to do with creating things or even planning to create things. So much is just kissing ass, and showing up to parties, and then it takes over your non work life. Part of the issue going on is that a lot of execs have made working in the industry their only personality

I wonder if Tom’s feeling are because he is from the UK and the industry is a bit different there. I think Tom’s father is a comedian in the UK, so it seems like he grew up in the business, and hates the big Hollywood machine.

Well, James Gunn films in color, so it’s already a step up from Man of Steel.

Well, fuck. What am I gonna do with all these celebrity dogs now?

He said what he wanted and told her to take it or leave it.”

The worst part about this coming out has been the number of people (and not just men!) showing their asses defending his behavior and refusing to recognize it as manipulative and emotionally abusive. It’s fucking terrifying but sadly not surprising.

I think a lot of therapy speak is used to enable narcissism, not just of the controlling, emotionally abusive, misogynistic type Jonah Hill exhibited, but in general.

“That being said, for something to be controlling you need to actually be exerting some form of control. She seems like someone who likely has a successful career and was not reliant on Hill for anything and was freely given the option to leave.”

Resolved: Hill was/remains an asshole; now cloaks under therapy-speak.

Count me firmly on Team Brady. If Hill thinks that therapy “worked” for him, I wonder what he was like before he started ... because that text does not come from a fully actualized and confident man.  It comes from a man-baby.

One of my best friends growing up (and not romantic in any way, that’s important) met and eventually married a guy in college who did not allow her to speak to or hang out with any other guys, and only let her see her girlfriends when he was around. I ran into them about a decade ago, it my first time ever meeting

But that’s where Hill is a bit different. He has a very weird, highly publicized relationship with his therapist and has spent an inordinate, uncomfortable even amount of time exploring his personal issues and his own personal boundaries.

I know therapy is a wonderful tool for self improvement that helps people live better lives.

When you stigmatize and then criminalize something which should never have been in the first place, this is the result.
