Ah, yeah that makes sense. I thought you meant that they’d hesitate to do something that they could declare as a loss (which, no, clearly not) but I guess Rick and Morty actually generates revenue for them (unlike properties intended to increase HBO Max subscriber numbers), so continuing production is more desirable

They toured Homework without helmets. I do remember some journalists saying unkind things about their looks back then (Mixmag and/or NME). Then they started wearing the helmets. Not sure if those two things were related.

He’s about to eat a... uh... marmiteful of consequences?  Wait, no, wrong gross spread.

How do you figure?

I think they’d have to buy out Roiland and Harmon for the remainder of the 70 episode deal. It wouldn’t be cheap, but they could do it.

Now playing

Thomas Bangalter’s early solo stuff is brilliant. Everything on his label (Roulé) is.

How she comports herself in interviews combined with her pedigree.

Admittedly subjective...

True. They haven’t come after me for that yet, thankfully. I’m on the premium plan and share with my mom and a good friend (we all live apart).

I don’t know a ton about her, but she sounds like her upbringing was so sheltered that she has no idea how to deal with the media, which can make for some really funny interviews.

Yeah maybe. I guess it would depend on the general vibe of the event (playful, serious?), her relationship with Guadagnino, and whether or not he was in on the joke.

Maybe they really are friends at this point and she’s just messing around? 3 years is plenty of time for passions to die down and be able to go: Eh, relationship’s done, but we still have a shared history and hang out in the same circles, so might as well be friendly.

I wonder if Sundance events have writers, like awards shows? Either way, good joke, and well-delivered.

I guess I’ll be ‘that guy.’ Sounds like people are cutting down on discretionary spending while trying to maintain something resembling a decent standard of living.

I came here ready to hate the material, but that’s actually pretty funny.

That’s good info, and very shady, yes. Sounds like the lawyers may have been given the directive to squeeze as much profit as possible out of anything DnD related. Maybe toy sales are down?

Even the Chewbacca defence beats the ‘shit happens’ defence.

A crime of etiquette has been committed.  Someone better call The Police.

Sounds about right. My best guess after a quick look at Google Maps would be the Burgundy Room on Cahuenga.  Dick had just been kicked out and was sitting on the curb, ranting at the bouncer.

He’d probably be surprised to find out that Jack Nicholson starred in B-movies (many of the Roger Corman variety) and had bit TV parts for like a decade before Easy Rider.
