"Gender test" is really a misnomer. They take some blood and look at your testosterone levels. Previously it was found that hers were high, but not high enough to be disqualifying. It's not, like, a gynecological exam - obviously the results of that would not have changed.

It's genetic testing - of the player's DNA, and yes, it is possible to test for gender in that sense. This will not be a "physical sex characteristics test" where they check out her junk.
