Bear is a black ex-tomcat, a big oaf, and a total love. :) He's a big boy, too—I'd estimate him at 15 pounds and he is not overweight. We wanted to rename him but Bear just fit him perfectly.

First cat was Tron (RIP, after the character, it's also my favorite movie), currently have Beaker (after the Muppet...orange cat with squeaky voice, it fit) and Bear, who was named by the shelter but it just kind of fit.
He got me First Contact on Blu-ray for Christmas last year because he was all sentimental about it. I think it was the first movie we went to together. :) I'll keep him. There are worse things than being compared to the leader of a hive mind!
When we first started dating, Mr. Kins took me to see Star Trek: First Contact. He said I reminded him of the Borg Queen.
You are actually doing the kind of work that makes a difference. I am just an angry Kansan. Thank you for telling your story.
Awww, his frightened meows break my heart, but I am so glad he's okay.
@thesadtomato: I'm with you—I've never thought of this phrase in a sexual context until I saw this article. In fact, I used it when discussing our workplace lactation policy with our HR officer in reference to women I knew who had been forced to pump in the bathroom for lack of any other private place to pump. "I…
Fuck death. Fuck illness. Fuck putting pets to sleep. RIP, little buddy. Tron, 2001-10/3/2010
@FurrierAndIves: I'll sit at your table. Bad Santa is my favorite Christmas movie. Watched it this morning, in fact.
@tobasquo: Considering the number of products J&J has had to recall in the past six months, my conspiracy hackles are definitely raised by this story.
It looks like she forgot to put on the rest of her marching band uniform.
@brotherjo: Not only that, but the cakehole is stuffed with marshmallows...which aren't kosher.
@fridaycat.: That quote isn't entirely fair. From TFA:
@missbananafish: Remembering the good times has been so important for me. The day before we had Tron (yes, after the movie) put to sleep I saw the Dr. Seuss quote "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." I of course burst into tears upon reading it, but it's meant a lot to me since he's been gone.
@elvis_is_everywhere: I'm so sorry. We had to put one of our kitties down three weeks ago and I'm still pretty sad about it. Treat yourself gently.
@Nic715: A friend of mine had one of those! She named it Meatwad. She actually lost the ovary it grew on, but the remaining ovary has given her two cute babies so I think everything's okay now.
Some relatives of mine used the 3D sono pic on the cover of their baby shower invite. It really didn't give off the cute/festive vibe.
@miraquepurty: I'm one of "those people" too. I moved 30 miles from the (stifling, teensy) town where I grew up for college. Graduated, got a job, and am still in the same college town. I love it here.
@quietgrrrl: I have a pair of the Earth Exer-Flips that I ADORE because of the neutral heel and good arch support. If my legs are sore from running/lifting/softball/whatever they are my go-to shoes. [vip.zappos.com]
@cassiemajestic: Play It Again Sports if you have one in your area. Almost my entire DB collection (1s through 25s) came from there. Wal-mart has cheap iron hex DBs as well.
