Chanel?
Chanel?
The blog that started it only dates back to spring 2012... and she was inspired by a random manicure picture she saw with an accent nail. The straights aren't co-opting this trend, its' rather the other way around.
Brandenburg v. Ohio says otherwise.
This, so much all of this.
Yeah. A lot of people use "I can't afford that" to mean "that's not a priority in my budget right now."
Haha... Our cat is super excited to see us in the mornings for about the same reason. "You're up! You're up! You're up! ... I get the preheated comfy bed now!"
I suspect that the push for older models miiight also be to protect those poor, innocent photographers and designers like Anand Jon who just can't help but try to sleep with every model who walks through their door, whether they're 14 or 21. /sarcasm
Jamie in the Demon's Lexicon trilogy is, isn't he?
Yes, of course famously vegan Fiona Apple would have a real octopus on her head.
She is working the hell out of that yellow dress in the top image. Beautiful!
To be fair, Arena Net is based out of the Seattle Area. We DO forget what that bright orb in the sky looks like for roughly 9 months out of the year.
I don't disagree with you on the Mary-Sue-ish-ness of the books. That's pretty blatant. But I DO have to correct your analysis of the sex-fairy part. It's not that he's "above" it. It's that he realizes it's not a consensual thing, he connects it to a previous sexual assault suffered as a child, and that's what breaks…
Ooh, I wonder which Jemisin character they're going to use? I would pay some good money for a pin-up of Nahadoth and Shiny. Actually, the whole list makes for some goofy speculation. Terry Pratchett? Hmm. Rincewind would be an *interesting* choice. Jacqueline Carey? Her covers are already pin-ups.
Bwahaha. I agree with pretty much everything you've said. Even tossing in Auri seemed a bit like a cop-out... "See? I have a soft side! Look as I take care of this former cracked student!" About the only thing that balanced his massive ego throughout the second book was his interactions with Devi. And, seriously, why…
N.K. Jemisin. Not only is she a woman of color writing fantasy (!!!), she also writes non-European centered fantasy. Yay!
Definitely. I've lost track of the number of times a MRA has quoted the "men commit suicide at a greater rate!" thing at me. Which is just baffling, since more women attempt suicide than men commit suicide.
When I got engaged, my Facebook ads went to all wedding stuff, all the time. Dresses! Cakes! Flowers! Husband-to-be? Not so much. He was still getting ads for yogurt and oil changes. Nevermind that our statuses updated at the same time, I was the only one who saw any change in how they targeted their ads.
Someone else must have been at the FF event at PAX? :) Yup, you hit the nail on the head.
That's amazing, because if this were for a job those would be giant, red flag illegal questions. I guess since it's a school they can get away with it, but... wow.
1. ... did you miss the part that this is a former employee talking? Why would a former employee try to salvage the company's reputation? If this came from the company as PR, it makes their lawsuit look worse.
