EXACTLY!
I loosely follow the pomodoro tecnique at work, some 30 to 40 minutes of intense, hopefully uninterrupted work and 5 minutes or so of light browsing, and thanks to this trend of “video articles” I almost always end up using those 5 minutes just bookmarking the URLs to be watched later at home instead of

The Stargate. Or Gary Seven’s tranporter. Or a lot of others.

When I was a child during ST:TOS first run, it always seemed to me that ST tranporters worked by disassembling, shooting and reassembling atoms, and that this process must be what caused the “bubbling” effect. I wondered about this “suicide / duplicate” aspect (I didn’t use those words, being 9 years old and all) and

Tycho monolith paint?

I went WTF when I caught the gif mid-animation and read “Gay Terminate”

Explosions. Chases. More explosions. Beastie Boys. Motocross. Same director of Fast & Furious. Star Trek? I’m going jedi.

Don’t know if it’s a regional thing or a matter of versions (I’m on Lollipop), but... “We’re sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server.”

No TARDIS? It’s bigger on the inside, you know.

Do you have some bad experience with that phone? I have taken reasonably good pictures with my old trusty Galaxy 2, in fact am thinking of building some sort of fixture to attach it permanently to my telescope. The picture is from the July 2014 Mars-Moon conjunction (with a 4” telescope and lots of duct-tape)

I would like two features from Waze:

I enjoyed most of those and for a while refused to believe that the producers would leave the bigger-or-smaller audience hanging and clinging to the hope of a special 2-hour finale ... that never came.

Could this be the answer for those of us afraid of travelling by airplane?

I really wish they have her voice parameterized (is that a word?) for some voice synthesis multiplatform software (at least Android and Windows) and in several languages (I’m spanish speaking).

Maybe you have no life, but you are right. If the hypothetical cut plane is at the equator the superlaser would not appear in this blueprint (being above the cut plane), and if the cut plane is just across the superlaser’s mouth, then it would appear elliptical (and also a portion of the station’s exterior would show).

It can be accurate if it is seen as an equatorial section seen from above, which it might as well be (it is not specified). The “front” view posted by anhalibut do show a vertically oriented structure from pole to pole like that shown on RotJ.

I enjoyed every second of this crap of a movie.

Easy, Woz and Tesla. Maybe not “hard” scientists but tinkerers. And Tony Stark.

The first thing that comes to my never-wondered-where-my-veggies-came-from mind is, why the circular units are arrayed in a rectangular and not hexagonal grid? There must be a reason to justify all that non-irrigated, presumably-wasted space between circles.

Time travel as a plot excuse (Star Trek 2009) rather than plot (Star Trek Voyage Home, Timecrimes, Primer).

Tron 3 could address that “material girl with functioning human (hot) body made from nothing” nonsense. Maybe she start derezzing in the real world, or this is not the real real world (too much “13th floor”).
