It is with a heavy heart and a plea to respect my privacy that I nonetheless confirm that the Knievel household is, indeed, an unregulated mess.

I can live with that. I actually saw it this weekend and enjoyed it for what it is. After a somewhat boozy. brunch. With my book club Mom friends. We honestly just needed to sprinkle a little Pumpkin Spice on that afternoon and it would have been the perfect parody of white 30-40 something womanhood in 2016...

There is something you can do, that all of us who have children in our lives can do. You love them, you nurture them, you do your very best to teach them to be as good as they can be.

I just don’t know what to do. I know the world has always been mad but the articles just keep coming. I want to stay informed but I’m pregnant and in tears over this baby and all the articles about children being hurt leave me this way. Specifically Allepo has me feeling like the world is broken. This and others like

In Montreal, our buses and Metro compartments have seats labelled as being for the old, pregnant or injured/ handicapped.

Yeah, the weirdest experience in pregnancy was how ONLY OTHER MOMS would give me their seats. Like, no, I don’t want to take a seat from you. That callow youth there, I want his seat. But I’d still give one up for an old, I guess... for now...

Why don’t we give the grieving brother who clearly lovef Alexis a little more credit. And let’s not use his time of grief as an opportunity to play SJW.

I kind of read the exact opposite from this statement. It feels like Alexis’s brother was being very careful in his use of language and was very respectful of Alexis’s preferences/wishes.

It’s obvious they took pains to be respectful. Accusing a family of misgendering from a single statement of grief is a little much.

But they said, Our brother and then our sister and then our brother... so seems like they were recognizing what alexis wanted.

Poor Sean Lennon. He got all of his father’s assholeishness and none of the genius and charisma.

Meanwhile, I told my therapist what mansplaining was this week and he (an older white dude) thought it was perfect and couldn’t believe he hadn’t heard what it was yet!

I think the practices associated with attachment parenting are perfectly acceptable. I hate that it’s turned into a movement instead of parents making decisions about caring for their children.

Because I am a walking College of Useless Knowledge I will gift you with a little SJR trivia.

I meant to ask why the shudder for Phil Donahue? He was incredibly progressive for his time and brought on all kinds of people and treated them with empathy and compassion, not like circus freaks. He did outstanding work humanzing and demystifying AIDS, and was (is, I’m sure, he’s still alive) an ardent champion of

I still love the story from when she donated a bunch of her clothes to a charity auction. A woman who was having a hard time in life bought the only thing she could afford, a pair of heels that were too big for her. She wrote Oprah a letter that said when she needed a boost she would stand in them for a while. Oprah

Yeah, I don’t care if he delivers pizza. At least that means one person in the marriage has some vague idea as to what earning a living is. Having a confederate flag tattoo and seeming to be a golddigger, OTOH — those are reasonable grounds to judge him on.

oh he seems like a total POS, I just don’t think being a pizza delivery driver factors into that.
