Sooo much of what my tween kids want to watch is utter pap — pap I say! (waves cane in a crotchety fashion). But actually, Good Luck Charlie is one of the few shows marketed specifically to that demographic that I'll sit and watch willingly.

Oh, so happy for you (and him!) My dear dad has end stage liver disease from hepatitis. With a history of depression, he (and my mom and the specialists) decided the meds available 15 or so years ago just weren't right for him. It was probably the right decision for so many reasons, but holy fuck, does this suck. And…

I agree! I was a smart kid. I loved to read. My parents let me read anything and everything (pretty much - not actual porn; that I found accidentally), with the rationale that "if she isn't old enough to understand, it will just go over her head."
