I'm pretty sure the first loot shower that I can clearly remember was Diablo II's Wirt. I was 13, and the gold that came out of that boy blew my mind. It just kept giving, and having been ripped off by him endless times in the first Diablo, it felt good.

Holy crap, I had totally forgotten about the 80's ghostbuster cartoon. I used to force my toddler self to try to enjoy it because I loved ghostbusters.. But that stupid gorilla. Even as a child I found it cringeworthy.
