@shkm: It's not functional enough for a laptop, I've tried it but I just don't like the interface in a laptop, it's built for a netbook, also tried Unity which is the next generation of light for Ubuntu, and it looks nice but it needs work. Gnome in the other hand is a very stable interface plus it has the support of

@gmrple: Usually Ubuntu has problem with new speaker hardware, but everything else it works perfectly, Ubuntu usually has support for new hardware faster than windows

@Justin B: I would considering recent benchmarks, running games, rendering applications and common everyday applications plus total system usage, Ubuntu 10.04 and Windows 7 are up to par, and Ubuntu 10.04 is free.

@ian.nai: Try linux then you'll be surprised

@tselby: It's actually an upgrade if you know what ur doing, install the right distro, know which programs are the best, know replacements, everything. I upgraded OS X with Ubuntu 9.10 and now Ubuntu 10.04 and let me tell you it's an upgrade from both OS X standpoint and windows Standpoint.

@mDuo13: same here, upgraded my desktop To linux and never looked back either, my desktop died but my macbook Runs 10.04 and in my opinion Linux is still the best operating system around, some people complain for lack of proprietary software but I don't replaced everything completely no need for windows or OS X just

@Laogeodritt: Install Linux I hear it gets rid of all those BUgs

@Stephen.Lecheler: I do the same here in costco, the big boxes which have offbrand cheerios for example cost half the price and offer 3 times as much product

@FreeChaos: learn to cook and buy ingredients yourself it takes more time, the food is healthier and cheaper because you buy the lowest price products are market value.

@The5thElephant: I find that this is a grave problem we have with kids now a days or actually always had but never manage to talk about. We have kids who we know are going to end up having sex one way or another. We continue telling them don't have sex, even though we know they are still going to do it, and we offer

@Firesphere: Tried it out on my macbook, its a little laggy right now, might be a problem with mutter, but it's very laggy for me, compared to a full gnome desktop with 3 docks, provided by Docky, so it's not really good right now, I'll try it again later in the release cycle to see how it evolves.

@Kovski: I find that their innovation is good, it's at a comparable level with any other browser plus they have been innovating the web for much longer than chrome. I find that the real problem is the underlying architecture of firefox, most major browsers have moved to Webkit, and for good reason. I understand why

@CutTheRedWire: I did, I switched a couple of months ago when the daily builds of Chromium were in version 5 and switched to beta with the 5.375.29 version of both chrome and Chromium and i'm afraid I might not look back at firefox, it's starting to lag behind and look bad against Chrome.

@bodar: It is, but it still doesn't cut it for me, I want firefox type RSS, in the bookmarks bar which I used a lot, this RSS is trying to compact that and put it all in a single button and it doesn't work as well.

Tried it but it's still not the same and not as handy as firefox RSS.

@phinn: actually you can bookmarks have been there for a long time. Plus there's a bookmark manager. And you can sync all your bookmarks and settings with your Gmail account so you can have the same bookmarks across all installations of Chrome/ium

@MrThunderfield: I saw this comment two days ago, and I was like SHOCKWAVE, no wonder it crashes. Who uses that anymore.

@Tony Bologna: I was with the daily builds of Chomium. It as nice, the latests builds got a little clunky and crashy, so I switched over to beta side

@dougefresh91001: You have to have Firefox 3.6.4beta not the stable version. It's a Beta update, some guys above had the same issue

@Faizan Momin: If you plan to upgrade wait for the upgrade it's gonna be a bigger mess if you upgrade later. This explains step by step how to do a quad boot system, but you can see it and modify it for the amount you want [goo.gl]
