Dammit! Tavarish is misrepresening my claim!
The R63 is awesome. The R63 is pointless.
The R63 is awesome because it’s pointless!

Hey now.
I noted that it was pointless but awesome.
Hell, I think it’s awesome because it’s pointless.
It’s like art. It serves no purpose other than itself.
According to some sources, that’s more than are currently registered in the US. :)
That’s just because they are super rare (and awesome).
OK. I will concede that if you have to have a 500HP Mercedes and it has to cost around 40K USD and it has to haul 6 people, then this car is not pointless.
However, that is a very specific buyer. Which is why >100 were sold in the US during the one year they were produced.
If properly equipped, yes. (Warning: Vintage DeMuro below.)
The engine isn’t what’s pointless, it’s the tall-wagon/not-quite-a-minivan/not-quite-an SUV body.
For the same money, you could have an E63 Wagon. Or a G63 if you want an SUV. Or an ML63 if you wanted a crossover.
It’s pointless because you can get an E63 Wagon for the same money.

A 500hp V8 Minivan. Awesome. But completely pointless.

Is there a reason for the plastic fender flares? Is there an advantage to doing that instead of just making the fenders wider?
They just look like something Mighty Car Mods would make out of garage door weatherstripping.
MY FAST MAKES IT HARD TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP.
- Cars must be year 2001 or newer.
2002 BMW M5. Many say it is the best car ever produced. 5L V8. Manual.
Sold for $24,900
I forgot about that show! Thanks for the reminder!
So, there is a new 2016 Mirage at a lot near me that is listed at $9,999.
At that price for a new car with a warranty, I’ve thought about it.
It would get me to work while I sorted out whatever is wrong with my “happy-time” car.
Honestly, I would love to have an Elio. It looks like it could be a lot of fun.
However, I think what will kill the brand is the financing.
People who can afford to buy one with cash can afford a “real car” and the gas to move it. People who need a cheap transportation won’t be able to get competitive financing on it.
Un…
Yeah. Never go to Urban Dictionary if you want to feel good about humanity. But it can be good for a laugh now and then.
