Uh, yeah, it was. That is a true statement right there.

You know, if I see one more person say “What were they supposed to do, she wanted out” without even fucking acknowledging the reason it got to that point, I’m go to Hulk out.

I enjoy reviews of shitty old movies. But I wish they also kept up the TV Recaps. My life is poorer because Rob Bricken doesn’t explain Flash and Gotham to me every week.

For me, it’s Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles. There was a lot to love in those first novels and even as it lingered it had bursts of interesting developments. And then it got so, so, so bad, both due IMO to inadequate editing and just terrible vision. I made it to Blackwood Farm before my rage forced me to say

You also completely missed the point of the article. The point isn’t the white people can’t be good at martial arts, it’s that the story trope of “White Dude goes to foreign land and becomes better at martial arts than any of the natives” is a racist trope that could have been rectified.

Alright, I’ll take the hate. Mad Max Fury Road is not that great of a movie. It’s smart for a blockbuster ‘splosion-fest, but it’s not actually all that smart. It HAS an ecological gimmick, but it doesn’t say anything about it. It HAS a sexist main hero and strong women, but it doesn’t really say anything about

So here’s a sincere question: How do people who have just lost the Super Bowl usually behave? Because, if my memory serves, they usually act glum, answer questions curtly, and (often) cut the interview off after a few questions. But maybe my memory is faulty?

Nice summation! I thought Windswept was okay, but I think your description is spot on—incredibly interesting premise and plot (I didn’t love the characters, though). I’m still making my way through the Nexus series. So far I’m into it. I actually bought both books at the same time at Worldcon this year. Ramez Naam did

Whatever the process, it can’t be worse than the Hugos. At least these awards haven’t been overrun by entitled racists.

Narratively, the idea of a video game being a secret recruiting tool for a huge military operation is something that seems way more appropriate now, 30 years later, than it did in 1984. At that time, video games were popular but were a few years from really exploding in a mainstream way.

Thanks, Obama.

Are you announcing your candidacy for the Republican nomination?

Of you mean like Wow isn’t sitting in Garrison and only seeing other players in Dungeons or LFR? Kinda like Strikes in Destiny :o /sarcasm
