For fuck's sake, I see this any time a religion does something expensive. Yes, there were much better things that money could have been spent on. And there's also a lot worse, and given a choice between them funding a church, and funding a crusade or an inquisition, I'll take the church any day of the week, thank you

Finally reading The Time Machine a couple of years back was a nice surprise. The original was so much deeper and more nuanced than the various film/TV versions. I am finding that to be true of a number of books that have become noteworthy (had the same feeling much longer ago when I finally read 1984).

Well wait... forgive me, but I have to ask, is this bad or just different?

I thought it was Katniss who was written as olive-skinned, and Rue was explicitly black?

wait, someone is going to explain all those to me? when?

You guys. Some of you are young, and don't get it, but X-Files was like something no one had ever seen before.

Battlestar Galactica

Red Dwarf. It was a bizarre concept, but right from the first episode they got the relationships between the characters right. More importantly, it was always funny.

Orphan Black.

So, basically just another mystical genre fiction rape baby story? Someone really needs to hold an intervention for Science Fiction & Fantasy and tell them this crap is just not cool anymore.

Pushing Daisies.

Drop dead gorgeous! Weirdly half the running time was credits.

Would the re-ensouled vampires be allowed to just integrate back into society or would they have to face repercussion for killing people?

This is personal preference, but The Dark Knight/The Dark Knight Rises Batsuit is everything I'd want out of a crime fighting outfit. The perfect blend of tactical utility and theatrical deception.

The related story is "Ditch the Cover Letter When Applying for a New Job; No One Reads Them Anyway". Which do I believe?

During an interview a few years ago, the manager I spoke with said that I'd submitted the best cover letter she'd ever read. It was from a Microsoft Office cover letter template.
