It definitely has a learning curve. Being a racer is by far tougher than being a Cop, but there are ways to get around the Cops. Avoid speed cameras, use auto GPS, and install turbo as well as driving defensively rather than offensively. Once you get there, the game is immensely fun and high octane. :)

I gotta say, the system itself is fantastic. UI is super slick, taking the best of the XMB while making it so much more efficient and snappier. Playstation Store loads in 2 seconds rather than 15, you can run the browser and games/apps at the same time, and the controller is excellent! :D
I've found quite the contrary. Resogun gets better with time for me, there are only 5 or so levels but you get better and better at the game as you play, and just like PacMan CE it's addictively fun to top your score off and it's gorgeous to look at. Contrast is fun, though definitely more of a one time playthrough…

As someone who got the PS4 at launch, I completely agree. KI and DR3 look way better than any current exclusive on PS4. I got a PS4 for the Sony exclusives down the line, and I definitely think that there are some cool MS exclusives down the line as well for anyone looking to get an Xbox One :)
