I believe that the NHL rigged the 2005 draft lottery to rehabilitate its failing franchise in Pittsburgh. I also believe that Sidney Crosby has been given non-standard incentives to keep his cap hit low, thus artificially deflating salaries around the league for several years.

“Rug pee-ers did not do this.”

For everyone who’s playing the “stay calm and trust Hillary” card, it’s not like she’s got a good track record when it comes to gauging the temperature of the country or of likely Democratic voters. See: Iraq War and the 2008 election. The trend in this election cycle is not right or left, the trend is “volatility”

“Doing the right thing” doesn’t get much easier than this in college sports. This kid isn’t the next big thing, he’s a 23-year old special teams hanger-on with one year left after he failed to pan out. A cynic might even suggest that Meyer was looking for a reason to drop him.

“Elite.”

No IOC official? And you really can't have Blazer but not Warner.

I believe that hasn’t been a catch for some time now. It used to be that if you were carried out, it was a catch. But more recently that hasn’t been the case.

Toronto sponsors could pay more, but the financial argument is still a bad one. For one, the income tax rate in Ontario is like 9% vs. 0% in Florida. And don’t get started on cost-of-living.

The stove right now:

“Upside down but were looking for more.”

Yes, but: if they put an arena there, the NHL will put a team there. Problem is that there needs to be an NBA team to have an arena.

I like a lot of those looks, but please no more blue uniforms in the NHL. And the blue home/burgundy third is too reminiscent of Atlanta.

Oh my GOD the Whales. Hartford would commit seppuku in the streets, but the NHL needs more whale!

Would it be cynical to suggest that someone in the WADA is looking for a nice handout from the IOC or Rio? Maybe a Trump Tower apartment for his cats?

Logan Couture over Zach Hamill is too obvious, so let’s go back to 1990. I’ve heard a few times from different people that Sinden had a great player at the top of his list, and he was confident that no one else would take him in the first round. The Devils traded down so that the Flames could take Trevor Kidd, then

“Is it just me or missing a verb show much intelligence?”

Go to the L Street Pub in South Boston after 11:30 any night of the week. You’ll hear the same (you say insane, I say persuasive) rant at every table - verbatim.
