You do need to realize that these Marvel figures these days are $20 and don't have a bunch of shooting gimmicks, etc. They're based around pose-ability, and really are more for older collectors... which is actually an even better argument for having female characters because most of who buys them aren't boys worrying…

Most of this comes down to simple capitalism. Most of the people purchasing "action figures" are buying them for boys, and as noted boys gravitate toward male characters. So if/when the consumers want one thing more than another, companies drop poor selling products or package them with popular items to move them. …

Yes, there needs to better female representation of women in the Marvel MCU, but Black Widow isn't on one of the big for they are promoting and focusing on, and either is Hawkeye for that matter.

That's true, but IMHO, actors usually loathe when they can only be known for one thing. So this will really be a chance for him to show what he can do from the other side.
