If you're looking for anything that resembles a shooter out of a western fantasy MMORPG, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Archery would definitely be your best bet, but if you thought Skyrim lacked precision and impact, wait til it's filtered through a 200 ms MMO server.

I would say stick to staves since their ranged attack locks on target. Unlike most MMOs your only 2 locks are your race and main class after that weapons and armor are what you make of it, if you want to feel like a god go Templar their healing and attack magic are great for power leveling solo.
