Birth control hasn’t been illegal for decades...I know ‘cos my dad helped make it legal! (four kids in four years will do that for a fella!)

I recently went to (luxurious) island to celebrate a friend’s birthday and met a few women there who were SAHMs living on the UES. They seemed nice enough. What pissed me off though was an exchange we had when we shared a cab in from the airport and the traffic was bad and it took forever. The chat during the ride

There's a company called Na2ure that has a really nice board game called Ani-gram-it which is a great way to teach kids about animals and biology in a smart and entertaining way. The have a card game for younger kids and a free iPad app called ferret.

I've had incredible chemistry usually with narcissists or men I later discover have issues. I'm happily with the nicest guy for more than three years now. I don't have quite that same crazy chemistry but I love him, he loves me and we have a nice, supportive relationship. I went to therapy for a number of years before

I threw myself a nice 40th birthday party - dinner, DJ, champagne, the works (can you tell I hadn't had a wedding?!) etc. The DAY OF (my actual birthday) 25 people called to say they couldn't make it (that was 20% of guest list) - I had to pay for dinner for all of them as it was too late to tell the caterer. After

How about some mindfulness CDs or a book on the same? Might help her and it is helpful for depression etc. John Cabot Zinn or such....

avocado spa scented? really?

Meh. Blonde, white doll? Agree with other posters - execution is poor. But clever marketing. Can I recommend Zylie the bear to anyone looking for a toy for this age group? Anthropomorphic, cute and she goes on adventures around the world - very fun for kids and yet teaches them fun stuff to do...

Apparently he spat at her first, then spat on her a second time - when they entered the elevator, he got in her face and she finally hits back...then he punches her. The whole thing is disgusting and sad.

I showed my boyfriend this....first question...."is this in Asia?" Me..."yeah" Him: "Are you sure they are not preparing him to eat?" "Argh!"

i know a gerontologist who says the best insurance for old age is...a daughter. My sister was a saint with my father who was appalling for his last couple of years....ungrateful, angry, drunk, incontinent, the works. Just terrible. Women and gay men end up carrying the load. My sister in law was pretty awesome too.

I worked at Time Inc back in the day and it was a notoriously sexist place too work with remarkably few people of color. I remember noticing that a higher % of people laid off in a round were from minority.

nominate them for the Darwin awards....

for anyone who thinks Down's syndrome is reason enough to terminate I suggest you watch this PSA and read the chapter on Downs in Andrew Solomon's brilliant book, Far From the Tree. I have friends whose kids have DS and grew up in a country where we don't automatically abort kids with it (I always wondered where they
