I’m in. But I only have a month left of vacation remaining, I can’t strike longer than that. ;)

ugh. I was trying not to buy this but... god damnit.

I was not surprised to see Wisconsin rearing it’s head there. Northern Illinois... the amount of seething but hidden hate up here is disturbing.

Huh. I have 2 of the i7-4770R models from a couple years back, replacing one a year later with the i7g3-760 for personal use. The one that I didn’t replace still runs 24/7 (with shutdowns for updates or for the rare occasion that I’m plugging my laptop into the TV) and, while relatively overkill for an HTPC, it also

Until they lose their seats on the committee due to popular unrest, and thus, their bargaining power for the Big ISP’s almighty dollar.

Yes. To the naysayers...

Do who I say, not who I do.

HERESY!

You know, all this science-y talk makes me want to add the bio component to this - assuming that the cannonball (10" diameter) strikes lateral to the rigth side of the thoracic cavity, caudal to the armpit, what kind of symptoms would Powersurgeon expect within 10 minutes of impact?

Not untrue! And this plays into the sacrifices many consoles have to make to maximize processing capability. But the PC gamers suffer for it, per this topic...

From what I understand, it’s currently a loss per unit sold. The thing is an impressive piece of kit, no doubt. And this is coming from someone who is a PC gamer/player through and through (+Switch). It’s currently quite the technological marvel, but, per the OT; that’s only half the equation. You got to do something

I lol because “the idea of making women keep $20K of product in their homes so they can peer pressure other people into buying it” is pretty keeping up with the Jones’. This is just a company monetizing it.

All I can think about is how uncomfortable everyone’s shoes are.

Use case different, perhaps, but it doesn’t change the capabilities of the devices.

As SSD costs go down, perhaps... it’s hard to say. Regular platter drives are still ridiculously cheap for the performance gains over optical, but we’re at this weird phase where there’s a big push for consoles into the HDD space, while PCs are basically leaving HDD for SSD. It’s fascinating.

compression / lazy devs. While you can’t do much about the higher fidelity visuals, usually it’s the uncompressed audio that actually causes this. i.e. uncompressed audio in several different languages.

Having run RAID 0 on 4x 500GB 7.2krpm hard drives, not... really. I mean, the numbers say yes, but you only get those speeds sometimes. And it’s really great for sequential reads/writes.

Still blows my mind. What is fantasy football, but pokemon?

Which is why you did it again, amirite?

Hmm. Hoping for the best with this one. I loved the original, and was depressed when I started to load so many mods that I broke my install.
