Agreed - it can be hard to get a consistent temperature in very cold temps, but I’ve grilled in -40 with propane many times when I just had to have the BBQ taste.

We live in BC now, where our contractor burst out laughing when we mentioned our previous 6 inch frost line as it’s 72 inches here in the Kootenays.

Tainting beverages? Free-bagging ice?

Theatrical movie detectives... Columbo was small-screen only.

Not sure if you’re trying to be confrontational or edgy, both, or neither. Conception occurs irrespective of consent. Nothing I wrote implied anything about consent or lack thereof.

People celebrate the date of birth, not so much the date of conception.

You should learn American Sign Language. At least I’m assuming that’s what she was keeping her hands busy with.

The opening sketch was pretty pointless, agreed. (Slightly comic twists on what are legitimately troubling events just desensitizes people, and is dangerous. But I digress...)

Again, a pre-recorded piece suggests that the show should dispense with the “live.”

Just a heads up on CDisplay Ex that even now (2022) the software available official site still contains malware (OpenCandy). Agreeing to install it is in the EULA. Worth avoiding.

Yeah, forget captchas, the ability to cry at Up should be the “are you human?” test.

Well-endowed, apparently. But also he’s a broken spirit, and women LOVE that in a guy. He’s a project for them.

FWIW Jost and Che are writers and they do the Weekend Update, almost exclusively. So they don’t need much range. Davidson on the other hand *is* expected to be at least able to pull off sketch work. His Chad bit is good (at times) but hardly legendary.

Technically-speaking scalloped potatoes don’t contain cheese. What you’re referring to is au gratin potatoes.

Hulu in the U.S. or Crave if you’re in Canada. Not every part of every episode is gold but still has some outstanding writing for such a small team.

Now playing

Another weird but awesome movie that often goes unnoticed is Brimstone and Treacle (1982). Based on the Dennis Potter play it stars Joan Plowright, Denholm Elliot, Suzanna Hamilton, and Sting. It’s a dark story, and definitely not for kids.

Do you mean the tribute to Eddie Van Halen?

McLaren are going back to the Mercedes engine in 2021. With the development freeze for 2021 it’s almost certain that Renault (Alpine) will be the only car with a Renault engine in 2021.

I used to take alcohol swabs with me and wipe the remotes but I quickly found that rubbing alcohol and some plastic remotes do not play well together.

Best that happens is to see some of my favorite movies remade with modern technology. Either way, the originals wont go anywhere.
