The first 30% is actually pretty draggy, but once she gets past the "sobbing in a cave" part that goes on FOREVER, it's actually a great science fiction story. I'd admit that the first bit is ugly, though.

I agree. I don't like the "allegation = guilt" any more than I like the "rich = not guilty" oversimplifications that these issues invite.
