I just wanted to say that Madoka Magic definitely is a Magical Girl show.

First, sorry, but this site is simply great:
Unfortunatelly, the combat is incredibly boring through the entire game. The best you can do is just get the shield sign with the healing upgrade, and then you’ll win all combats due to becoming basically immortal.
Probably suicide. She had mentioned being harassed for being both a woman and transgender, in the middle of a community known for its scathing toxicity. Issues with the mental health of streamers don’t get nearly as much attention as they need, IMO.
Definitely one of the best games of the year. Feels like a spiritual sequel to Planescape: Torment. It really fits the old “what can change the nature of a man?” question too.
Same here. I really liked the original Guild Wars... While GW2 is just “meh”. It feels less like a sequel and more like a combination of the original game with classic MMORPG tropes.
Jason, I’m somewhat surprised you haven’t commented on how Ben Irving has left Bioware:
Is the game worth playing by someone who doesn’t like MMORPGs, enjoys the single-player Final Fantasy games and would play it exclusively as a single player experience?
Definitely. Rousey may even be right about how Fallon Fox would have an advantage over her; it’s a subject surrounded by controversy. And not controversy due to trying to push those who are transgender away, but rather due to how it’s hard to measure how much of an advantage a transgender woman who transitioned during…
Every year, Kotaku’s editor-in-chief writes what can only be called a very sleazy article - the Gamers of the Year. In an age in which gaming coverage has been called for a lack of transparency and integrity, we still get homages to random people, without any kind of disclaimer or objective criteria - how many of…
I wonder if they will do something like Dead Cells - whenever you die you go back to the very beginning and lose all your weapons, but you keep all the unlocks you accumulated from previous runs.
That being said, I’m somewhat worried about the tone of Odyssey. Apparently the game feels like an old comedy, filled with people laughing very loudly and being generally cheerful while the hero goes around doing menial tasks for everyone.
Great article, Jason. This is very good journalism.
Jason, since you know the gaming industry well, what do you think was the problem there?
The thing is, Blizzard has not even said they have a Diablo game in the works (other than Immortal). A lot of people are reading their comments about the “multiple projects” as if that were tacit confirmation of Diablo 4, but really, it is not.
Er... Maybe they are not working on Diablo 4.
I agree completely with you. The thing with Kotaku is that they usually have very positive (often way too positive, specially from Mr Tortilo) opinions about the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Considering what other reviewers have said about the game, either we assume one of those conflicting views is simply wrong, or we…
IMO, it’s interesting in how it shows the difference between writing a blog post and writing a piece of journalism.
Keep in mind that Kotaku isn’t really about gaming journalism. It’s mostly a blog where people talk about games and pop culture, but actual reporting - investigations, research, travelling around - almost never happens here. I think Jason is the only one who does actual journalism.
Based on what you are saying, sounds like you are not fond of extremely (sometimes overwhelmingly) challenging games, or games that make players lose progress/time/money when they die.
