If you can step out of your critical race theory box for a second: most of us are raised on the (still debateable) assumption that racism is basically being shitty to another person on the basis of their race or ethnicity. Most people will live their lives without knowing any definition beyond that one, especially

Ah. I know a few of them. I actually hate the black fashion tumblr. It's not well curated at all. Modelsofcolor has some very nice stuff, though.

Yeah I'm amazed at how people go out and buy these nice cameras and don't bother learning how to use them

Sorry are those tumblrs? Or are you suggesting search terms?

I actually agree with your entire post. It's not that I think self-identification doesn't matter, I just don't think it has to be the last word. I think I can challenge how people identify themselves ( especially since, in the end, they're still free to identify as they please).

One could argue that Jordan was treated with more dignity by the BART security guards in Fruitvale Stationthan he is by Gormican's script.

Do you only speak in platitudes? Don't answer that.

Oh, I love this aesthetic. I post a lot of pretty, girly, light things on my tumblr and for a while I had trouble finding pictures of black girls photographed in the same way. A lot of times when photographing black women people go for the hard or even aggressive stances and colors and overall presentation. So where

You haven't been discriminated against in the thread, goofball.

Special snowflake rant aside:

Does anyone really know who they could 'love'? And not everyone is interested in long term relationships.

This actually made me ask myself something I never considered: would I be as unconcerned about someone else's weight if that person was my kid?

I didn't realize cats would keep eating if you kept giving them food. I guess I thought the obesity due to another health problem or an unhealthy diet.

Basically. I can acknowledge that a lot of people are generally good looking but not be physically attracted to them myself.

The gaze isn't about who is watching it, it's about the perspective used when filming/photographing it.

Not all kissing and simulation of sex acts are considered male gaze. Male gaze is not 'doing something guys would find hot.' It's a lot more nuanced than that. I don't understand the point in disputing the idea without bothering to read what it is first.

I disagree. Sure they can point out when they're physically attractive or good looking, but actually been attracted to both? I don't think so.

It's defined as an identity, sure. But as a label, they generally have pretty standard meanings. If someone was going to do a study on gay men, it would be pretty useless to have a guy who isn't attracted to men in any way volunteer.

I didn't think it was pro-abortion either. I just figured it was a story similar to lots of others she'd heard, maybe people she'd known. She was a teenager when she wrote it. And honestly, I'm as pro-choice as you can get but a fetus is definitely killed in an abortion. It's not murdered, but it is killed. Cause

I've read that it isn't necessarily an 'anti-abortion' song. Abortion is illegal in Colombia and women die from abortions all the time. Even the chorus is a bit ambiguous.
