But it didn't move the story forward at all, so it would have been better fit as a side story.
But it didn't move the story forward at all, so it would have been better fit as a side story.
Keep in mind that I said the story that Desmond set into motion, not Desmond himself. The current state of that arc being the release of Juno, which Black Flag hardly touched until the end, and not in a very meaningful way either.
Sure, that's certainly true. My main gripe is that it's not a part of the story set in motion by Desmond in any significant way. It's more of a side story with mentions of the overall arc in my book.
Ah, thanks for the clarification!
I'm sure that's what was intended, but there was a pattern going of the historical periods being in order. Either way, the main reason I bought it up was because the main three games had followed Desmond, and now that he's gone (and that ACIV didn't do a whole lot to advance the things that Desmond had set in motion),…
Maybe it started out that way, but in its released state, the story had much more of a "non main game" than even Brotherhood and Revelations, which is why I thought the numbering didn't quite fit. But that's just my opinion.
I would say that this trailer is probably one of the biggest graphical leaps the series has made by far, perhaps with the exception of Black Flag's ocean. The level of detail and lighting blow the rest of the series out of the water.
Haven't played MGS myself, but it makes the most sense that games/movies that are numbered should be in succession rather than in random order. My main point was that Desmond is no longer a part of the series in any major way, as far as we know. Plus the fact that they have no intent on ending the series would make a…
No, which is why the numbering system is better dropped. The first three flagship games followed Desmond's journey, and now that he is no longer alive, it's best that they drop the numbers.
Yeah, naming Black Flag ACIV didn't make much sense to me - it didn't follow Desmond's arc, and the historic time period came before ACIII, whereas the previous titles had all been in succession. With a series that has yearly releases (and this year two releases!), the numbering system starts to lose meaning.
Thanks for posting this, this title looks to be right up my alley!
Eh, after having spent so much time making my town look like Fallout, I've had enough apocalypse for one lifetime.
That's a pretty good analogy! I saw a CSI "YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" joke for the first time in ages a few days ago, and it made me laugh rather than cringe. Perhaps because it's been such a long time, it doesn't seem overused anymore.
Definitely a 10/10.
Ah, right. I very rarely ever play deathmatch in GTA Online and mostly just do a lot of things with my crew, so my mistake!
Well, luckily you can turn chat to friends/crew-only, which definitely helps. But yeah, so many button presses are required to mute one person, I feel like it could have been implemented a bit better.
The sound effects aren't dubbed over the clip; inside the rear of the suit was a boombox that looped sound effects from the movie.
Exactly, and something like that would require very little development time and give players the opportunity to get comfortable with the mechanics, as you said. The current campaigns are little more than linear shoot-em-ups with loosely held together stories, and I don't think they would be missed by too many.
Sure, but it seems like it should be pretty common knowledge that a tribute to the two main characters of a recently-released DLC will probably contain a spoiler or two.
Man, didn't realize the layout was that differe-
