Still holding out on a FO4 announcement. Not really as confident it will happen now that Bethesda's said that they aren't done with new Skyrim content, but a man can dream, right?

Green and blue is certainly better than brown on brown, though.

That was my first thought as well. Well played, sir.

Agreed. I've tried explaining things to a death person, and it is basically impossible.

Indeed, though I do prefer Skyrim's snow shader in most cases. AC3's deep snow is very cool though.

With all that is being drawn on screen at one time (a TON of grass/flora and whatnot), it doesn't surprise me too much that framerates are less than perfect with anti aliasing at max.

That's one strong lockpick.

I'm not too far into the main story (which so far is decent), but I'm having a blast exploring the island and getting new gear. I've got a Core i7 920 and a 6970 2GB, and I'm running on max settings with about 40fps. If I turn AA down (which I usually do), I get much smoother framerates. It seems well optimized,

I like Fallout 3/Skyrim's lockpicking, though I really did love Oblivion's. Fairly challenging and still fun.

Yeah, try it on PC. Not so fun then.

I saved Kaidan simply because Ashley was a giant bitch.

What was the studio's opinion on the two chase scenes in the game? I found them to be incredibly frustrating, and have seen that opinion mirrored by others.

Crazy Uncle Nic makes a very valid point. Bethesda's games are one of the few that actually has to keep track of thousands of persistent references at once, whereas a game like, say, Grand Theft Auto randomly spawns and despawns NPC's when needed. Skyrim (and other Bethesda games) are simply much different games with

I am so easy going that it gets on a lot of folks' nerves, which is quite annoying. People literally get annoyed at me for not getting annoyed or fired up enough. Backwards logic, in my mind.

I've had that prediction all year, it makes perfect sense. Oblivion in 2006, Fallout 3 in 2008, Skyrim in 2011. Might as well have Fallout 4 in 2013. ;)

Oh don't get me wrong, I absolutely love open world games. I've always been a huge fan of them, and have even created the largest world mod for Fallout 3 to date, allowing the player to travel to a post-apocalyptic imagining of my hometown of Alton, Illinois.

I was planning on preordering as well, I guess I'll play a bit more and see how I feel.

An amusing strip, but hardly related to the article.

Is there a certain point after the intro that the game really opens up and starts getting fun? I've been playing for maybe an hour or so and I'm not too impressed.

Yeah, I've never been a huge fan of Unity either. I can't say I've delved that far into it, but what I've seen hasn't really impressed me too much.
