Are you sure you still need TRIM enabler? I thought this was needed prior to the last couple OS 10.x version but automatic now.

If this is the case, I’m guessing the reason will be to extend AppleTV to control HomeKit devices. Perhaps a gesture like you do on a Mac to pull up LaunchPad gives you activity control over HomeKit functions. Of course it could be used for existing functions of AppleTV too, like fast forward, etc.
