Its shit like this and gamergate that make me disgusted with some of the video game community. I know this is mostly an outspoken minority of people, but it makes everyone who likes video games look like horrible, petty jerk-offs.

Getting someone fired on charges of “pedophilia” so that a gaming company will somehow put back game mechanics that some might construe as “pedophilia”.

As someone who’s been in the online gaming space for a long time, seeing all of this coalesce has been fascinating (and frightening) because it’s a kind of perfect storm of separate negative attitudes coming together into a unified whole.

Gamers are the worst. Seriously we are. Needy, whiny, entitled, easily offended (but tell other people not to get offended) and eternally insecure. My main takeaway?
