Except when they make Batman into a homicidal maniac. That’s where I’m pretty sure most people should draw the line.

“Why did you try to kill my son on the Enterprise?!?”

Donald Trump is still opening his mouth, breathing in air, and exhaling sounds that seem to motivate some of the most hateful people currently living in North America on a regular basis?

this generation’s Ted McGinley

“It’s Bruce, Jennifer.”

So the superhero movie that kicked off the whole Marvel studio renaissance was Iron Man. The crazy part of Iron Man? It’s not an action movie. It has a bare minimum of action scenes, with the rest of the movie being a character study on Tony Downy Jr. You actually fall in love with the flawed, arrogant, and brilliant

The backup is in-fact NOT you. It will think like you, have your memories, be EXACTLY like you... but it will not be you. You will die and your consciousness will cease to exist. That copy will have it’s own consciousness. You will die and the copy’s own conscious mind will go on as if it were your twin brother. You

Just because it is a duplicate of you does not make it you. It is a separate and distinct consciousness that just happens at the point of it’s creation match the one in your body. You are creating a copy not actually transferring the original. A copy, now matter how exact, is not the original.

The problem is, that backup plan isn’t you, it’s a copy of you and a separate consciousness. While it might benefit others around you, you yourself will not live on in a new form. A separate copy of you will. You will still be dead eventually.

John Carter was amazing, the marketing for it was non-existent. Disney failed John Carter, I assume on purpose.

And not a single reference to Deep space nine. We can devote half a poster to seven of nine’s tits but god forbid we pay attentio to the smartest and best made trek series of all.

yeah, you should skip it.

Now playing

Gonna keep doing this until io9 grasps other people made these types of movies in the 80's. Not that I mind because I never get tired of championing Monster Squad. NEVER!

the best

You say MJ and I say Kareem Abdul Jabbar is the GOAT. Kareem won on every level he has ever played on. He won 3 city titles in high school, 3 national championships at UCLA to MJ’s 1 title and it would have been 4 but Jabbar was not allowed to play his freshman year because the NCAA has always been stuck stupid. Throw

Yeah, Seattle still exists.

That moment..when he pushes the newspaper forward to his traumatised son at the end..the little nod of acknowledgment...

Never understood why this movie got the hate and poor reviews that it did. I loved it and all the wink, wink, nod, nod comic book superhero references. The way Bruce Willis’s rain slicker made him look like he was wearing a cape? Brilliant. Little things that that.
