you sound like you don't have much fun.
Ya sure, if they are smoke jumpers and shirking their duty. Otherwise, gosh just let them have a moment would you?
I've never seen Aliens so I was confused as to where I knew that voice. Mass Effect answers that.
Most known from Aliens? Maybe not. Most known from Mass Effect as the voice of ADMIRAL HACKETT!

I have to say: I never, ever understood what it really meant for something to be "triggering" until I started following this incident, tried to read Rodger's "manifesto," and learned more about the conversations/cultures on these forums.
"Elliot Rodger and company aren't the mentally ill outliers that the media (and the NRA) depicts them as. They're much more common than we want them to be. They're capable of being functional members of society."
Yes I'll concede that's a (or the) major factor, but seeing as how we had this very non-Muslim killer exhibit- not the same, but I think a parallel- flavor of violent psychopathic misogyny and entitlement in the U.S. So maybe it is misogynistic culture in general, not Islam specifically...? Just offering a devil's…
Say it with me.....ISLAM.
If I make my wife laugh hard enough, she farts. That's how I know when it's good.
I'm not sure why everyone seems to think that discerning a "breathier" laugh requires you stopping all prior brain and body function to stare and fixate on someone's breathing. They aren't recommending being creepy, they're just saying "this is the difference, you can usually hear it in the breath."
You've got to like the way it rolls out.
Then you're doomed to be perceived as a person of average intelligence forever! Noooooo!
So? :-) A boss used to do that to us all the time. Me: "Client is upset about x" Boss "So?" Me: "I think we should comp the time" Boss: "So?" . I had more productive conversations with my nephew that asked "Why?" to everything.
I'm not at all sure I agree with this. I might agree that it overused, especially on NPR, but I don't think it is either evil or inherently unnecessary. I think points 1 & 3 are more valid than 2, but I don't think these are the sole uses of "so." It can also be used to cue to express a degree of frankness or…
I got me a 6% pay rise in this economy, it's been a great few years for me.
If that's your attitude toward your workforce, I suspect there's not enough money in the world to entice me to work for you in the first place.
If you're simply looking to fill holes with bodies, that attitude is great for a supervisor. If your company actually benefits from having the most skilled person in the position, and you benefit from finding them, then you are actually managing.
