"parents no longer stop their children from screaming that horrible piercing scream - for fun"
I have no problem with people taking their kids to bars in the afternoon, especially a sports bar. Of course, they should keep the kids in line just like anywhere else.
Oh, I hate lap children on planes. Lap infants, fine, they are smaller than a lap. Once a kid is larger than a lap, it needs it's own seat which it stays in.
Oh man. Coming over after being specifically told not to? Wow. No boundaries on that one.
You know what's awesome about Quakers? The kids get up and leave the service after 15 min.
"In fact, isn't it technically illegal for staff to drink on duty?"
I was getting them every couple months for a while to monitor something. They sucked hard, but were not godawful (for me), and since I needed them, I put up with it. If I hadn't needed them, I would have turned them down, though.
Anyone who is employed at will can be fired for any reason or no reason whether they are in a right to work state or not.
Normally I love Tracie's perspective on parenthood. This piece verges past toungue-in-cheek and hyperbole (if that was even the intention) and verges into asshole territory.
It's a boy band pronounced "wand erection".
Did you tell us about this when it happened? B/c this is ringing a bell. Sounds like a suck ass date, and I am sorry you went on it.
You are fighting a losing battle. This joker is invested in the idea that women should be tricked into having sex, and nothing is going to change that for him. You fought the good fight, now let it go.
"You let her figure it out"
Frankly, I see the roots of his problem in that article. OK, so he figured that women don't need to be cajoled into sex. Great, I'll get him a cookie. But I think he jumped from "women don't need to be cajoled" to "so just get sexual with them immediately" and "move on if they don't respond" which is still…
"As a result, if most of those guys are thinking they are expected to make the first move if they like someone, the fact that they don't is communicating something."
" they assume wrongly that people have the same boundary limits as they profess to have - even though they may be patently untrue."
Wow, I never thought of the aspect that boys don't even respect boundaries around other boys. Thanks for your insights.
It's a skill that can be learned, like PUA techiniques, but more respectful.
Idle chit chat is the way in. Think of it as the foreplay of conversation. You do know what foreplay is, right?
"when I am talked to as a person with my own interests/opinions/ideas I am MUCH more likely to engage and have a conversation and see where it leads"
